Some time after loosing his ear to a "zombie" stoat, David and his group officially became military and were expected to wear the uniforms. While this isn't the exact uniform they had to wear while on duty, we didn't have a description for it back then and the closest I could think of was to say a camo BDU for training exercises.

... He still does some stupid crap even in the present setting. People wonder how he lived so long with such a streak of random acts of stupidity.
