Listen I'm just applying what I know of one recreational physical activity to another! Having done some digging, ironically this may be an application of "unicorn stance" in wushu.

It's (most likely) a stylized mix of the "punch perm" and "pompadour" hairstyles, though it could just be something fun/funny Redic-Nomad likes.

Punch perms in Japan have a cultural association with tough guys (both criminals like yakuza, and blue-collar workers like truckers or factory workers) due to a period in the 70s and 80s when they were popular with those social classes. An over-the-top excessive one is sometimes used as visual shorthand to symbolize a character being physically tough and rough-and-tumble. For particularly outrageous ones, it may imply some mental/emotional instability or fragility, as the "tough guy" symbol is a little too insistent etc. The character Mondo from Danganronpa 1 has a similar hairstyle and is an outwardly boisterous tough guy hiding deep emotional scars and self-doubt.
