if you (almost) cannot see her shading (which can be the case on TFT screens), I have a slightly darker version here:

I thought it was time for something furry again ^^
I wrote a little story behind this picture (below the line). It’s a little weird because this is the first drawing I ever made of Anne, so I wanted the story that goes with this picture to be about the first time Pete meets her. But then I also cannot really ignore she’s in her birthday fur. So the challenge was to write something believable that would also not compromise my characters’ integrity. This is also the first piece of fiction I ever ‘published’ so don’t be too brutal ^_^’ and I might do this kind of thing more often :)
Done August-December 2009. Pencil sketch, scanner, Photoshop. I’m not entirely satisfied with how I did her tail, both the shading as in how it blends with the background. But I also haven’t figured out how to improve it yet. If I do, I might improve it and upload a new version some day. I do like the feel of the picture.

Anne
One of those cottages in the countryside, where you would never expect a soul to come. Where all you hear is the rustle of the leaves and the birds in the tree…
Pete wasn’t paying attention to where he was going for the moment, as he was fiddling with the map, and trying to find out where in the world he had wandered off to. You’d think that after 10 years of Boy Scouts, he would know how to keep track of himself on a map! He was walking down this little dirt road going in what he vaguely believed might be the right direction. There were a few cottages by the side of the road, the road bending to the left, around one of the cottages. He walked around the bend, muzzle again buried in his map, trying to find the road on the map.
When Pete finally looked up he saw a cat girl napping under a tree besides the road. Pete stood still, and stared at possibly the most beautiful thing he ever saw. The dazzling white fur, the graceful flow of her plushy tail, and her calm and peaceful face… Only when she started to stir did Pete’s brain nudge him: he was looking at a naked lady! Pete realized he was too far away from the corner he just came around to turn back and leave before she woke up. When her eyes opened Pete’s breath seemed to choke him.
“I-I wasn’t paying attention, I-I was-…”
Pete indicated the half-folded map, hoping she would understand what he was babbling about, and at the same time wondering just how long he had stood there staring.
The white cat looked at him, and raised a brow and started to grin. Pete fell silent, and quickly looked down, realizing he was still looking at her. His face felt like it looked like a red traffic light. It couldn’t have been standing there more than four seconds, Pete thought. Finally, the girl started to giggle. She stood up, easily covering up all her privates with her tail and walked to Pete, extending a hand.
“Hi, my name is Anne” she said with only a slight German accent.
Pete cautiously looked up, and seeing that she had herself safely covered and that she was smiling, he smiled too and accepted the hand.
“I’m Pete”, Pete answered, the relief as evident in his voice as on his face.
