It looks to me as if they have all of the characteristic traits, except they usually have smaller, less flashy wings. But being an open species, there can certainly be a lot of individual interpretation.

The DADs have their pluses and minuses. That scene can get rather cringey. But Telephone is fucking adorable, and is an extremely talented fursuit performer.

As I've seen it, the "Rules" for creating your own character and the way that some people white night about them, which can mostly be chalked up to the problems inherent to creating an open species and trying to maintain some control over it.

Also general bandwagonism, and a lot of rather ill-conceived, poorly designed or overly precious characters, a lot of which can probably be chalked up largely to kids jumping in and creating characters without a good sense of creativity, character design, originality, taste or restraint. I suspect that they are a lot of people's first characters. Hopefully they learn and grow from the experience. Like a lot of people's early characters, assuming they stick with it, they can be embarrassing.

This of course doesn't characterize all of them, by any means.

-Don't wanna seem too negative, these are the kinds of things that happen any time you start to have a group of any size. There will be politics, power struggles, etc. Where there are human egos involved, there will be drama.

As I said, these are things I noticed that could be considered the downside. It's not necessarily the character of the whole group. Most folks are no doubt doing it for the love, fun, and friendship.

Thankfully I'm one of the good ones ^^
