A nice, wholesome story I made as a test of dialogue, and character interactions. It came out quite nicely, and I was very happy with the end result. Enjoy!
A Braixen poked his head into the glorious inflatable castle, curious to see what was inside. Laying on the soft floor with a Flygon balloon in his arms was none other than the fox's own cousin, Hugh. "Typical... Knew this thing was yours, Fluffy." He scoffed, the shiny Ninetales letting out a groan and opening his eyes. "H-Huh... Oh, Ralph... H-Hey." The kitsune blushed at the sight of the fellow prince, sitting up and giving him a smile as he stretched. "Hmm... What did you do to this thing?" The Braixen asked, moving his eyes up from the balloon Hugh was cuddling, and up to the patched wall. "Oh, uh... Don't worry about it. It's still air-tight." Hugh gave that wall a nice pat, the patches on nice and firmly. Not coming off any time soon. "Can't believe YOU would do such a thing to a castle so airy and grand." Ralph teased the prince, giving him a gently, playful nudge. The two started to converse about their lives, and the politics of their two kingdoms, eventually making their way upstairs, where a pile of Hugh's uninflated toys lay.
"Wow... You really do love these things, huh, Fluffy?" Ralph knelt before the pile, looking through all of the toys. "C'mon, you know you get lonely too sometimes." The Kitsune gave his rival a roll of his eyes as he rummaged through the pile, taking interest to an inflatable Lapras "Oh, shut it... Hey, can't say I don't like this one. These guys are all the rage at Grundra." Ralph blushed deeply, quickly changing topic to the toy in hand. "Oh, really? They're pretty common to find in Lucidia too. You wanna air him up?" Hugh gave a little smile and patted the heap of blue and grey vinyl, pulling out the air valve on the side of the toy's tummy. The Braixen pulled the nozzle up to his mouth, taking a deep breath and blowing life into the Lapras. The Ninetales watched with a little blush on his face, sitting his rump down on the floor as he watched the Lapras swell to life. Ralph took a deep breath before every puff, taking a short break every few puffs to avoid becoming lightheaded. Each delivery of air into the inflatable toy let out a beautiful, hollow sound, nice and drawn out while the Lapras still had lots of room. "Don't use up all your lungpower, there!" Hugh quipped with a little smirk, his multiple tails wagging in excitement as he watched the Lapras take form. "Well... I'm not the one who lazes around all day." Hugh rolled his eyes at the validity of the retortion, laying back and staying silent for the time as Ralph went back to puffing the sea monster. The Braixen gently rubbed a hand around the toy's shell as it took form, the Lapras' head slowly rising as enough air entered its body for the neck to support it. The Ninetales blushed and smiled at the sight at the cheery, smiling face perking up, resisting the urge to hug the toy as his rival gave it life. "What's that look for? You in love with this thing? Does the fluffy princey have an inflatable girlfriend~?" Ralph took notice of Hugh's thoughts of how beautiful the Lapras looked, giving a big, teasy grin as he temporarily closed the valve of the toy. "G-GAH! N-NO, W-Where'd you get THAT idea from, man!?" The Kitsune snapped out of his thoughts, his eyes looking up from the sea monster's face to that of his cousin, then back to the toy. The Lapras was inflated just enough so its head had a slight little tilt to it, adding to the beauty of it. "C'mon... Even if I wasn't psychic, I still would have noticed you giving it those bedroom eyes." "I-It was just a little smile!" "Bedroom eeeeyes~" The two went back and forth before the Ninetales let out a frustrated little huff, gently flopping onto his belly and looking slightly away from his rival. Their argument provided a good time for the Braixen to catch his breath, which he took advantage of to get right back to puffing. Each breath blown into the Lapras became slightly more short and strained as it filled to capacity, the vinyl hide starting to resist the air blown in. Hugh had his eyes closed, simply admiring the lovely sounds of the puffing to avoid any more teasing. But soon, those sounds became extremely short, quiet and strained when the toy tightened.
"H-Huh...? Uhm, Ralph... I think he has enough air..." Hugh interjected nervously, opening his eyes from hearing the Lapras begin to creak from the extra air puffed into its body. "What's wrong with a little extra? Don't you know how to test a toy's limits?" The Braixen closed the sea monster's valve and grinned at his friend, the Kitsune gulping at what the fox was implying. "Yeah, but... He'll-" "Shut it, Hugh. Watch and learn." Ralph didn't have to read the prince's mind to know that he was going to complain about how the Lapras could pop. After the short break, he re-opened the toy's valve with a satisfying pop, resuming the slow, strained puffs into the inflatable sea monster. He started to struggle slightly as the toy became tighter and tighter, resisting the air given to it. Meanwhile, the Ninetales' heart pounded in thrill as he watched the Lapras become bigger and creakier, the fins and head of the cheery toy beginning to bulge. Hugh began to sweat, not knowing when the toy would give up and spring a leak, or worse... The Braixen glanced to Hugh and gave a little smirk as he slowly puffed, closing his eyes as he felt like he could hardly blow any more air into the inflatable sea monster. But Ralph kept though, delivering small, strained breaths, until... A soft hiss arose, and both foxes let out a gasp. Ralph grinned wider than ever and let out a giddy little chuckle as Hugh hopped up, running to grab a patch. The Braixen gave the tight but softening Lapras a firm, satisfied pat as the air gently rushed out of the small hole, watching his rival scramble for the patch. "N-Now look what you've done!" The Kitsune cried as he walked back to them with a patch in hand, his heart in a bittersweet swirl as he gently wrapped his arms around the leaky sea monster's neck. "What? Stop being so dramatic, we haven't even started yet." Ralph rolled his eyes and took the patch from his cousin's hand, slapping it over the toy's leak. "W-We haven't even gotten to ride him yet!" "Get your own if you wanna snuggle something." The Braixen gave the sea monster another good pat, the toy's tight surface letting off some hollow thuds. Hugh reluctantly nodded and took the advice, walking to his pile of uninflated toys and pulling out a big inflatable Floatzel. He took a deep breath, puffing into the otter's belly as his friend watched, taking some time to letting the patch on the Lapras settle. "Nice choice." The Braixen smirked, gently easing himself back down onto his toy. He bounced on it softly as Hugh inflated the Floatzel, watching eagerly as he blew life into the otter. "I'm a faster puffer, just watch!" The Kitsune bragged, taking breath after breath as he quickly blew into the toy. "Don't use up all your lungpower, there!" Ralph mocked his friend's posh tone, the Kitsune looking to the prince and blushing. "Whatever, you probably haven't puffed a toy in your life!" Hugh yelled back, his face red only partly out of how hard he was puffing. "Look here, you aren't the one going though daily training sessions in the desert heat." The Ninetales backed down from that counter, partly hiding behind the slightly inflated toy as he popped the valve back open. He gave slower, softer puffs to the otter, conserving his energy. The Floatzel slowly filled up with his breath, the Braixen kicking back on the Lapras as he watched. Hugh glanced out from behind the big, puffy otter, seeing his rival watching. He closed his eyes as he puffed, focusing his energy into reading the prince's thoughts...
As Ralph listened to the soft puffs, he simply admired how beautiful the big toy was. He thought about that big Floatzel belly that was taking form, imagining giving the inflatable otter a cozy hug... "Hmm... Say, Ralph, this is simply a lovely toy, yes?" The Kitsune asked as he paused the puffs, turning to his friend and giving him a soft smirk. "U-Uhm, I... I suppose so!" The Braixen widened his eyes and gave a bashful nod, caught off guard by the question. "Well... He says he wants to hug you, and snuggle you, and shower you in squeaky love~" Ralph blushed deeply as the Floatzel was turned to face him, looking slightly wrinkly with just enough air to hold a good form. "Ah! I-I..." He stammered bashfully, watching as his friend moved the puffy toy closer to him. "Huuuuug me, princey! Show me how much you loooove me~" Hugh held the toy by the arms, spreading them out as if the Floatzel was beckoning Ralph for snuggles. The blushing Braixen gave in with a embarrassed sigh, opening his arms as Hugh pushed the Floatzel into his arms. He closed his eyes and let out a soft huff of bliss from the feeling of the soft, chubby toy in his arms. "I looooove yoooou~" Hugh spoke for the otter one last time as he popped its valve back open, starting to puff into it once more. "O-Oohhh..." The fox moaned as the toy swelled in his arms. He hadn't felt anything like it before, and it was simply heavenly. "I-I love you too..." Ralph forgot about Hugh's teasing, imagining this really was a big, happy toy who loved him to bits. "O-Oh, my..." The Kitsune widened his eyes as he delivered the last few puffs into the Floatzel, closing the valve of the big toy once it was fully inflated with a little give. He didn't expect the prince to crack this easily. "What a surprise. The prince who puffed a mighty sea monster to leaking just moments before is now confessing his love to a big, puffy Floatzel." Hugh chuckled at the sudden turn of events, Ralph letting out an embarrassed groan and pulling himself away from the toy. "Mmpf. You know what? Whatever. Forget this happened." He grumbled as the blush on his face faded, giving the Floatzel a good boop on the nose before turning back to his Lapras toy. "Not happening... But if it makes you feel any better, I won't tell." Hugh smirked, watching his rival let out a soft huff as he put the sea monster's valve back to his mouth. The Kitsune grabbed his Floatzel and laid back as more air was puffed into the Lapras. He watched closely as the toy slowly bloated more and more, the shell and belly becoming rather round. "Hey... Help me out a bit. Patch the leaks so I don't have to stop with every one." Ralph requested, taking a small break as he watched his cousin reluctantly nod and grab his box of patches. The fox soon went back to puffing, and sure enough, a new leak suddenly sprung on the Lapras' fin. With a little yelp, Hugh quickly put down the patch on the hole, stopping the flow of air before Ralph's puffs could be mitigated. As the sea monster bloated further, two more leaks sprung up. As the prince patched the Lapras' shell and neck, he looked back up at that beautiful, smiling face. He thought to himself, wondering if the toy was enjoying the experience... But in the middle of that thought, another leak sprung up on the toy's face, right on that lovely smile. The Kitsune widened his eyes at the hole, blushing from seeing it spring up in the perfect place... He took a deep breath and embraced the Lapras' neck, starting to kiss and puff into the leak. "Guess I was right about the bedroom eyes, huh?" Ralph smirked and took a break from the puffing, watching his rival start to cover the leaky sea monster in kisses. "S-Shut it, Floatzel-lover." The Ninetales sighed as he showed his love for the beautiful Lapras, looking into those wide, beautiful eyes... He took a deep breath as an idea entered his mind, followed by cognitive dissonance. The fox plucked his pin from the fluff of his tail, Ralph watching with a half surprised, half excited grin. Hugh brought the pin to the sea monster's face, quickly poking where the leak was. He put the pin back in his fur afterwards, taking a look at what he had done. The bloated toy now had a small but loudly whistling hole, which was big enough to truly puff into. The Braixen refrained from making a dirty joke about the hole, watching as the Kitsune wrapped the Lapras back into a tight embrace. He puffed the hole with all his heart, trying to replace the air that it had lost over the last few moments. "Guess I don't have to waste any more time, huh?" Ralph watched as the inflatable toy bloated out even more. Three leaks quickly sprang on its underbelly, which he swiftly patched to keep his friend going. "U-Uoohh... I-I don't think she'll last much longer..." Hugh moaned as he savored the last of his time with the beautiful toy, watching as his friend struggled to keep up with the amount of leaks that were springing. "I think you're right...!" Ralph widened his eyes as the Lapras' pressure started to truly show, the hardly-set patches popping off one by one. "N-Nooooooo..." The Kitsune let out a cry as the sea monster could hold air no longer, desperately puffing into the hole he made. His rival let out a giddy, excited chuckle as he bounced onto the toy's back, letting out a sigh of relief as he kicked back and relaxed on the sinking Lapras. He kicked his feet up on both sides of the Lapras' drooping neck, gently curling his toes in contentment as he sunk into the hissy toy. Hugh took a little step back from the Lapras, taking a little time to admire it as it sunk under his friend's weight. He watched sadly as he felt a little stabbing in his heart, thinking of how much of a better life the poor toy could have had. Ralph, meanwhile, had a big grin on his face as he lounged, loving how much of a thrill it was to have a toy meet its end. "Hmpf... I had to say... This felt kinda nice." The Ninetales lightened up a bit, looking at the two paws next to his face and giving his friend's sole a soft prod. "H-Hahah! Glad you think that way." The prince leaned up and let out a chuckle from the poke, smirking in satisfaction.
"Guess you're not a bad puffer after all!" He gave Hugh a poke on the side in return, making the Kitsune step back with a chuckle. "Better than you ever were." The Ninetales boasted, the Braixen giving a roll of his eyes. "Oh, please... We really do need to settle this, do we?" "Indeed we do." The two made their way to the pile of toys, starting to rummage through it. Hugh pulled out a grumpy looking Charizard, while Ralph took a grinning, flexing Hydreigon. "Alright, so... First one to fill up completely wins. Pretty simple, right?" The Ninetales grinned and turned to his rival, both eager to start puffing. "It's on!" The Braixen nodded, the two getting their toys into position. "Okay, then! Ready... Set... GO!" The foxes started to puff with all their might, filling up the two dragons. They both admired the lovely music resulting from the puffs, glancing to eachother competitively. "You know... I've never seen you sleeping WITHOUT an air-filled toy in your arms." Ralph told Hugh through his telepathy, not wanting to waste any breath that could be used to inflate the Hydreigon. "C'mon, man... You know what happened that one night..." The Kitsune gave him a sensitive glare, his eyes softening as his arms wrapped tightly around the swelling Charizard belly. "Need me to sing you a lullaby, Fluffy?" The prince half-teased. He wasn't trying to make fun of Hugh, but he did find it cute how he was asleep in seconds with a little soft singing, and a puffy toy in his arms. "Mmpf, save it for later." The Ninetales blushed as he puffed the toy. It was embarrassing coming from his rival, but someone to sing him to sleep was really the only thing missing from the grand inflatable castle. He looked to the Hydreigon toy, seeing that it was somewhat less inflated than his own Charizard. The Kitsune smirked at the fox, who started to puff faster in response. Hugh blushed and puffed a bit slower from the sight of the inflatable Hydreigon's flexing arms starting to lift from the ground, but it only bridged a little bit of the gap. He knew how to work the valve of the Charizard much better than Ralph, letting him puff much more efficiently. The Kitsune watched his cousin puff with all his might, but it just wasn't enough to match his own relaxed pace. "Having a little trouble there, friend?" He took the valve out of his mouth to say, the prince glaring at him in frustration. He didn't get how to work the valve, and felt embarrassed at how he was being bested. "...S-Sorry..." Hugh muttered a shy, hasty apology in response, puffing a bit faster in stress. He felt guilty as the Charizard became full in his arms. Meanwhile, Ralph's Hydreigon was just starting to get firm, a bit behind. Soon, both dragons were fully inflated, though the Charizard became full a minute before the Charizard. The Braixen closed the air valve on his dragon, letting out a soft huff "Sorry..." Hugh muttered another apology out of guilt. "Mmmh, if only these things could be puffed without having to work a valve..." Ralph complained, blushing softly in embarrassment. "Oh, huh... I think I can fix that." The Kitsune's ears perked up as he glanced around the room, taking in all his inflatable furniture. He approached a particularly puffy looking treasure chest and opened it, Ralph peeking over and taking a look at the contents inside. All of the prince's balloons were stored as neatly as he could, the deflated forms lined up. "Oh, you genius~" The Braixen smirked and gently brushed his fluffy tail on his friend's side, the Kitsune squirming a bit from the tease. "Y-Yeahahah! I think these would do nicely!" Hugh pulled out two balloons and closed the squeaky chest, Ralph smiling at the choice. "Gyrados and Eelektross, huh? I'm taking the eel. 'Desert of Thunder' after all." "Desert of Thunder, a perfect place to heatstretch a toy~" The Kitsune let out a soft chuckle and looked down at his Gyrados, putting the neck at the end of the fish to his mouth. "Perhaps we should take our blimp there, would be a nice time." The desert prince gave a little smile as he did the same, taking a deep breath in advance. Hugh counted down with his fingers, and then the two were off. They huffed and puffed away, the two sea snakes inflating through pure puff power. The Gyrados had its big mouth wide open, looking rather angry. Meanwhile, the Eelektross had a very cheery posture, and big, happy eyes. Hugh blushed as he listened to the two balloons stretch and squeak, taking a glance to Ralph's eel. The fish was somewhat bigger than Hugh's balloon already, its arms appearing to spread out like it was beckoning for a hug. The Braixen huffed and puffed with determination, fueled by the thrill of the big snake popping. He enjoyed the loud bang of a popping balloon, even if it startled him occasionally. Hugh looked back to his Gyrados and smiled, the big fish seemingly appearing to become angrier and grumpier as it swelled and creaked. The squeaks got louder as the Eelektross' right arm gently rubbed up against the Gyrados as it inflated, making the Kitsune blush deeper. The two balloons were starting to grow transparent, some of the more finer features of Ralph's fish bulging spectacularly. The teeth of the eel's gaping maw had bloated to the point of roundness, nearly touching eachother. Hugh was suddenly put on-edge when he heard the tell-tale creaks of a dangerously overinflated balloon from the Eelektross, his own Gyrados only at the point of slight overinflation. He stared through the balloon's long body to get a glance at the fish's enraged glare, almost as if it were to go wild and start gnashing its teeth any second now. The Kitsune thought about how his fish's teeth were starting to rounding beautifully, starting to look like those of the Eelektross, when... BOOOOOOM!! A sudden, loud bang rung out through the inflatable castle as Ralph's balloon gave out. The fox gave a soft yelp, then a thrilled laugh as the scraps of the poor balloon rained down on them. Hugh, however, took the sudden noise a bit less well. "WAAAAAH!" The prince let out a scream of surprise and fell onto his back, landing harmlessly on the soft floor of the inflatable castle. He let go of the Gyrados' nozzle, the balloon loudly sputtering as it rocketed around the room. Both princes watched in amusement as the fish noisily lost its precious air, the Ninetales lightening up from the sudden shock. "G-Good job." He softly chuckled as he watched the Gyrados' loud sputtering turn into a soft hush as it fully deflated, the balloon slowing down and gently draping itself over the nose of the inflatable Floatzel sitting to the side. "Guess I'm the true winner." Ralph smirked and swept together the scraps of the eel he popped, feeling a little sting of guilt for popping his friend's toy. It was nothing though compared to the lovely thrill he had, and the exhilaration of the pop.
"You know... I just got a little idea." The fox approached the Floatzel with a smile, giving the chubby otter a hug. He gently rubbed the toy's fat belly, admiring the size of it. The Floatzel was quite plump, but he wanted something bigger. The prince gave the otter's tummy a good, firm pat, listening to the hollow, drumlike sound that resulted. He moved his face over to the valve on the toy's back, gently popping it open and placing his mouth on it. "You know, we're both Fire-types, right?" Hugh gave a nod in response, widening his eyes in realization of what his friend was implying. The Braixen took his mouth off of the nozzle for just a little second to puff out a little bit of steam, showing off a bit. He then took a deep breath and blew some of that steam into the Floatzel. The toy initially resisted the air, but the warmth quickly softened the vinyl form, allowing easier puffs. Hugh watched as Ralph delivered his warm breath into the otter's form, watching it starting to bloat out already. The already big belly was slowly growing, the Braixen's hands wrapped around the sides as he blew. Each puff let out a lovely sound as it warmed and stretched the toy. Hugh looked into the Floatzel's big, beautiful eyes, watching the toy's head bloat slightly along with the rest of the body. He approached the big, puffy otter and hugged the huge, bloated belly, letting out a moan from the warmth of the breath inside. "Well now... Look who's hugging the Floatzel now!" Ralph grinned at the Kitsune, who let out a little huff in bliss. He only wished the toy was alive and could hug back... "I know what you're thinking... You really are such a soft one, Fluffy." The Braixen gave his friend a little pat on the back as he hugged the huge toy, going back to the puffs. The Floatzel was quite sturdy, holding up even when its belly rivaled the roundness of a beach ball. "He... H-He really is a big one..." Hugh muttered as he looked back into the toy's eyes, his heart fluttering in thrill from seeing the loving face a bit distorted from the head's slight bloating. Ralph gave a nod of agreement, nestled between the toy's twin tails, which gently squeezed him as they rounded."H-Hnnnhh..." Ralph let out a groan as he struggled with his breaths, feeling the tight Floatzel expand around him. "H-He's trying so hard..." Hugh moaned as the otter creaked, steadily expanding from the warm air inside its body. "You sure do want your boyfriend to live, huh?" "C-Come on, he's earned it..." The Kitsune bargained before he heard a soft "POP," a sizable hole springing on the toy's tummy. "Aaaand, there he goes!" Ralph grinned from the bittersweet sound, his heart fluttering with thrill. He watched as his rival pulled up a patch and applied it to the Floatzel's tummy, whispering soft, comforting words to the toy as he embraced it. "Hey... Chill out, we both know Jackson can repair all of our popped toys." The prince attempted to calm down Hugh, but he was too busy looking into the toy's big eyes, caught up in the bittersweet spiral. The Braixen let out a soft huff and went back to puffing the toy, quickly replacing the air it had lost. The Floatzel's belly began to bloat further and further, the stretched vinyl looking thin and discolored. The otter's big, yellow vest was looking beautifully bloated and nearly transparent, stretched to its limits. The pressure took its toll as the vest sprung three small holes, each with a quiet pop, followed by a growing hush as more and more air was puffed into the toy. A few tears rolled down Hugh's face as he tightly embraced the otter, kissing and puffing into one of those holes. The combination of the heat and puffs made the hole grow from a small leak into a sizeable one. The Kitsune only got to puff for a short time before the Floatzel finally gave in, the leak on the vest growing into a split. The prince let out a cry, holding and cradling the otter in his arms as the steam lovingly puffed into the toy escaped from the huge gash. "Ssshhh... It's okay, Fluffy..." Ralph gave the Ninetales a pat on the back as he fell to his knees, hugging the last bit of air out of the once-mighty toy...
The Braixen slipped downstairs and grabbed the Flygon balloon the Kitsune was snuggling when he arrived, bouncing back up to the upper floor of the castle so he wouldn't leave his cousin alone. He thrusted the bug into the prince's arms, watching as he buried his face into the balloon's soft belly, weeping tears of sorrow, and thrill. "C'mon... Cheer up. You got your balloon... We'll run to Jackson's place tomorrow and get all of these guys fixed right up." Ralph looked out the window, smiling at the sight of the setting sun. Hugh turned to the fox and nodded, wiping away his tears and cracking a smile. "T-Thanks, I... I really had fun today." He gently climbed onto the big balloon's belly, curling up and letting out a yawn. The Braixen pulled up the inflatable Hydreigon next to the Flygon, hopping up on the dragon's chest and kicking back. "You've got all those big balloons around, but I'm not going to leave you alone tonight. My father won't really mind anyways." Ralph smiled as he pushed the two dragons together, rolling onto the soft, latex belly of the Flygon. Hugh nodded contently, blushing from feeling his fur frizzing a bit from rubbing against the balloon. "H-Heh, thanks... And, ah... About that lullaby..." "Oh, sure thing, Fluffy..." The Kitsune yet out a yawn, his eyelids drooping as Ralph sang in a soft, soothing voice. The Braixen didn't have Hugh's posh, silky tone, but his voice had a warm, gallant firmness to it that set his mind at ease. The Ninetales closed his eyes, unable to keep them open any longer. He softly embraced the Flygon balloon, letting Ralph, and the bug's soft squeaks sing him to sleep... Ralph watched his rival drift off peacefully, happy to see him at ease. The fox crawled back onto his inflatable Hydreigon, taking some time to feel the soft vinyl bed below him. The prince didn't have many opportunities to sleep with inflatable toys at home... It was just so relaxing, much better than the light mattresses over in Grundra. In total bliss and peace, the last thing Ralph thought about was the softness of the dragon before he fell asleep himself...
