FWA's theme this year is Pirates! In honor of that, the majority of my commissions at this con were themed after my own wild pirate captain and her crew. Here's a character I haven't introduced yet, inspired by one of FWA's mascots (a bunny is the other mascot and Zara already existed so.... :p ). This is Ali Zulfiqar, ex-soldier and the crew's chief gunsmith and weapon master. He's pretty laid back compared to most pirates, but never backs down from the thrills of the high seas and proves to be an interesting foil to the rest of the crew, including Captain Zara herself. In this image, masterfully drawn by gNAW, we see that he's not above a bit of playful nudges against Zara's authority, nor is Zara above goading him with a challenge. In fact, rumors have spread among the crew that the two may be sharing a secret, illicit relationship.... but they're all pirates so nobody cares XD
