Lots and lots of practice. I was out in a matter of seconds due to our safety precautions (and months of practice) and I actually was able to finish the dance. Just a little shook up. The only thing that hurt was my ego...

Ever since I stumbled across a playpoi video I've been desiring to actually do poi <3 I've only practiced with socks but I keep whacking myself lol. I'm so glad that you were ok!! Man, I'd be so thrilled to watch you do a fire poi routine!!! :D

I think everyone should try it at some point in their life! It's sooo empowering and humbling at the same time. You have to have so much respect for this thing you're in control of, and all of your focus has to be on what you're doing at that immediate moment in time. And it's LOUD! WHOOSH is all you hear. SO much fun. Playpoi have great tutorials. Keep practicing!! You never get back the freedom of not knowing what you're doing.
