Something I finished a short while back but never uploaded until now.
For those that don't know, this is my newly redesigned dragonsona, Xayide. This image took me about 18 hours total, because I'm really slow at lineart D: and the shading method I attempted here took FOREVER T__T

Are the designs on the wings "painted" or otherwise like a tattoo?
Seriously, most of the time they're lying down for sex..
So kudos for showing a Dragon doing what Dragons should be doing, and more kudos for just doing a good job in general! I like how he really does look like he's flying. I can't imagine it's an easy thing to get down perspective wise. I have a question though.. those other things in the air.. are those translucent Sting Rays leaving contrails behind? o_0
I think it's just the location, lol. Because I see a ton of flying dragons over on dA x3. I haven't been here that long, but now that you mention it, I haven't seen all that many flying dragons here on FA XD.
It is very very nicely executed, in the thumbnail it almost looks like a 3D render, which really compliments your shading and understanding of volume.
Just something about a dragon flying above the clouds.
It is just hard to explain, more of a feeling.
