check engine light has always been something I giggle about. Stories I could tell you! Two of my vehicles. The light periodically comes on quite literally, because it's a false reading. My last Dodge caravan. The light would come on and go out all the time, was a false reading for one of the oxygen sensors and I had the same thing with three Dodge Jeep Cherokees and my Dodge charger. Nine times out of 10 if my Dodge has the check engine light on it will say front oxygen sensor sometimes had the lights shut off after a day or two and then not come back on for weeks or even months to do with the sensor itself getting dirty. If that makes any sense. My father's Dodge caravan. One day the ABS light came on. Here's what will really screw with your mind. The van had no ABS brakes factory and we even took part of the Van apart. Wondering why the hell there was even an ABS light on the gauge cluster. The van had no ABS system. It was optional on that model and year ended up having to put a piece of black tape over the damn light or else take the cluster out and remove the lightbulb. Think about it, the damn light Coming on for something. The vehicle didn't even have LOL. Ironically, I've had pretty good luck with the caravans.
