After that alliteration, I think it’s time for a nice cup of tea! ^__^
Not much of a description to this one, as I hope that the title will provide adequate explanation for you. For your interest, this is the roof of the Pierhead building in Cardiff Bay, a French-Gothic Renaissance structure built in 1898 by William Frame for the 3rd Marquess of Bute. It was built as the headquarters of the Cardiff Railway Company, and as the nerve centre for the Cardiff Docks, which at that point were the largest steam coal-exporting docks in the world. The red terracotta bricks originate from Mid-Wales, and such was their popularity at the end of the 19th century that they can be found in several towns and cities across central and northern England and Wales to this day, including Liverpool, Birmingham, and Newtown.
Hope you enjoy!
