Ooh, that's a neat idea. :D Fun read, good development, though would say the tech did interrupt the pace in places.

I'm curious how Hollie ended up with a bracelet, and further how she'd have worked out this particular use of it. Certainly believable, but could be interesting to read. ^^

Also: is being a kangaroo that weird? It didn't seem like a world with talking animals so far, so the thief copes pretty well.

For if being a kangaroo is weird here, the idea I had was that there are other accessories that induce transformation, but they aren't widespread, so not too many people knew about them. Maybe the thief knew about them existing -- which is unlikely, since he didn't look to see if she was wearing them -- or maybe the thief rationalized it as her being in a kangaroo suit; either way, it's definitely something I hadn't considered. It's a hole in the story.
