Rimentus' YCH 11 - ??? [CREATIVE][CLOSED]
How would you cheer up someone having a bad day? It's been awhile since I've done one of these, so I figured I do one since I need a character to be included in this comic. Unlike my other YCHs, I won't be showing a teaser to the comic panels, as I want to keep it as a surprise. The question I posed above will be the only hint I'll give, and the comic itself will include Rimentus interacting with the YCH character, so you're just gonna have to trust me on this!
To enter, reply under my [ANSWERS] comment with an answer to the question above. I'm not necessarily looking for a super funny answer this time, so there's no obligation to write something humourous if you'd rather answer with something a little more endearing. I'll be picking my favourite answer and notify the winner a few hours after the YCH has closed.
Important notes & requirements
>Please include a reference of your character underneath your answer.
>Open to ferals and anthros
>Dragons and reptiles are welcome. Canines, felines and lupines are also welcome.
>Poses/expressions/dialogue are fixed.
>Your character will appear in 2 out of 4 of the comic panels.
>Size of character is flexible, though will be drawn to a similar, or slightly less height to Rimentus for the sake of visibility.
Ensure that you are aware of these conditions and rules before participating in this YCH. Examples of previous YCHs can be viewed through my scraps.
This YCH will run for 20 hours starting from the time this submission has been posted.
As always, it's best to enter these YCHs with no expectation of winning. Chances of winning is very random for all intents and purposes (a good friend will gather all the answers for me and put them in a document, shuffle them and send them to me without the names attached). Good luck!

Easy! Figure out what is wrong then treat them to a nice day of activities like a movie or going to a park and then at the end I will tell them how much they mean to you and how much you enjoy there company...while either snuggling or big dragon hugs <3

I would give them a cookie and a hug, then probably try to distract them with talking. Most likely about their favorite subject,or about silly things in general! I wouldn't stop until they gave me a smile.

Offer to cook for them and share a meal while I listen to their woes and encourage them.

I'd try to be there for them, talk to them and just be supportive. If they didn't want to talk about the issue, I'd share other things with them. Try to make a few light jokes just to make them smile a little. Just basically being there and trying to bring a small spark of joy to them, so that it helps them through the tough times.

I tend to treat my friends to a dinner. Or in one particular case, I told my friend I just wanted to bring them to a park so we could walk some of the trails but I surprised them with a spontaneous picnic. So... I guess all of my solutions involve food. XD

Seek to find out what is at issue and do my best to resolve it and then take them out to a nice diner or lunch of their choosing^^;

I would give them cake and milk and a huge hug! I'd also go to great lengths to cheer them up and find out what's going on. Heck I'd offer myself as food if need be! :3
Or maybe a pillow fight or ticking with a tail.

I'd try to sit down next to them and try to ask them what happened and let them talk. After that, invite them to a treat or activity I know they enjoy to take their mind off things.

I’d ask them what happened, listen to them and let them vent first, and see if maybe I can help them find a solution. If not, I’ll do my best to provide reassurance and support!

Well, i'd ask them what is wrong firstoff, what exactly happened to set a person to such a mood. It can help miles for people to just let such bad thoughts off their chest. Then i'd approach them with a hug or two, depending on the person. If there is a "solution to their problem" i'd try to give advice or i'd try to help with the problem. And afterwards, what about some icecream? ^_^
Maybe doing things together to distract them from the bad day, from playing games to actually going out to the cinema, or for a walk. Thats especially good if the cause of the bad day is present in the location you are leaving off from.
So yes, that would be my solution to the answer, i hope this is helpful x)

While a hug is surely a nice way of showing sympathy and trying to comfort someone who's having a bad day, talking about the reasons for them having a bad day in the first place is a more direct approach. That way the comforter has a better idea of what they're dealing with and it's easier to find a suitable solution for cheering the other one up and making them smile again as well as helping them to overcome what had made them unhappy.

Having a bad day? Well first I'd get to cooking something for them. Something that was their favorite and I'd pour my heart into it. Then I would fail so spectacularly, I'd manage to burn the pots I wasn't even using. In an attempt to fix this, I'll order pizza and opt into watching some shows with them, or playing games.
And if they wish to be alone, then I'll let them be... I'll just take off the door hinges of every door in the house and create an elaborate scavenger hunt for them to find them again
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/18450969/ aaand here's a ref from 2015. I gotta get this updated... Please don't look at the hands, or the crazily uneven neck on the right. And no his bones aren't orange, I thought people wouldn't know what bones looked like if they were white for some reason.. I was a nut job for sure, maybe still am XD

Burn everything down, then take delight in watching the fires and maybe pillage some villages.
Or was it just burning something that could worry them? Sometimes I confuse these things.

I would talk to him and give him a company but it is really depends on a situation. If he want to be alone I would tell him it is not the end of the world and there is nothing infixable. All problems have a solution and for a bad day it is a cup of tiramisu and dragon side against ^W^

Alright, sure, why not.
I feel the best way to cheer up someone having a bad day, is to just talk to them. A simple conversation can really do wonders. It's helped me, it's helped my friends, and it's even helped random strangers. Just a small interaction can brighten someone's day. Sure to you it may be just a one off thing, but to them, it can be the one thing that keeps them going despite their hardships, and when you do that, it's truly a fantastic feeling to know you managed to help another. Making someone happy is all the reward I need, makes me happy and warm too.
And here's the ref (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/30044924/), and I wish a lovely day to you and everybody else here!

I would try to take their mind off of what is troubling rather than push the subject. Going to see a movie or go out for a meal to try and get them away from whatevers getting them down.

Ask them to see what is wrong and what has caused them to be upset or distressed, comfort them by telling them that what ever happend is over and give them a big hug! It's been proven that people calm down a bit by physical contact with other people since we crave it. I would also talk to them, allow them to vent thei saddness and frustrations at me so that they can feel like they have been heard and to see if there's anything else that I could do to cheer them up, I would do anything to make my friends and the people I love happy!

I'd sit down next to them and eagerly unleash in verbal form a slew of my own current frustrations. Makes them realize they're far from the only one with awful things happening in their lives every now and then. There's always plenty of stuff to complain about after all!
And after that, invite them to play a board game.

The best ways to cheer someone up is the simplest ways.
1. Always come off as soft and approachable to the person, especially now.
2. Never try to come off as fake whilst doing this.
3. Lend an ear, and throughout the conversation, assure them that not everything you is their fault, understand that we have our funny little moments like these, and leave them feeling like they have people that will listen, and a smile firm across their face.
Bonus points if you can slide an awkwardly funny joke in there, that's usually a go-to.
Afterwards, giving them some space can help, and that's what I learned.

My actual real life way of trying to cheer people up no joke.
First I offer hug and to lisson to them then offer words of advice (if needed)
Second I cook/ bake something for them (cakes and pies work great also steaks)
Third I try to be funny failing most times
Last I offer to buy them something
That is my method lucky I have not had to go to the fourth that often or I would be broke

Start by listening. Than gauge how best to respond. Sometimes that's a nice hug and just sitting down with them to keep them company for a little while. Othertimes a few short words of encouragement then letting them have some time to themselves is best. What works for me though is get their mind off it. Play a game together or sneakily slowly change the subject to something else, something they love.

I would tease them, steal their plush, plunder their cake, and be an all-around nuisance. Same as any other day.
Everyone has bad days. Why put emphasis on it? A day is a day, and a friend is a friend. I'll still be there, much the same as always, to annoy you day in, day out, and remind you that I'm still there. That I haven't forgotten you. After all, you ain't getting rid of me that easily!
And perhaps, once all is said and done, that steadiness will help you feel better about it all. A bad day is just another day, and other, better days will still come. And I will still be there. Or maybe that's too deep and I really do just want to be a pest. That's up to you to decide.
Reference: Just look under your bed at night. You know who I am.

What I would do is that you should not feel bad because it is not necessary, if it was for one person or several, you just do not have to please them, it is because you feel bad for some personal problem, that you feel free to discuss it with a friend , and that it is normal to feel bad in such situations but you always have to get up and continue no matter what obstacles always come together and with a good face.

If someone was having a bad day, I would first offer to listen to what the problem is, as telling someone else of a problem is a little thing that can make a big difference. I would also give the advice, such as "Remember, a bad day, does not mean a bad life.", before offering company, and to do something fun to help take their mind off things. Moping about misfortune skews perceptions of a situation to be worse than it is in reality.

I would talk... and talk... and talk again, sticking to them, not giving them time alone for having bad thoughs. And when they tire of it, I'll shut up, but still stick to them, because the heck I won't leave them alone in this ! Eventually, they'll get better... or leave me forever. But I will have tried.
At least that's what I try to do, but fail more often than not
