It was a teleportation. Guess it must've been a holdover from his days with Malice (or whatever she calls herself nowadays)

I thought that, but I had previously asked and the artist said Malgam could only teleport in his Espeon form, and Malice doesn't seem like the type to help out with something like this even is she has chilled out a little.
