Featuring the classic pair of Toothless the Night Fury, and his partner Light Fury, I wanted to capture the essence and beauty of their Hidden World. While this picture itself is spoiler-free for anyone who may not have watched the film, I took inspiration by several of the landscapes featured throughout the third film.
Always enjoying the Night Fury, I didn't realize how much I'd love the Light Fury with her translucence, glittering iridescence, and her catty personality. Yes, I said it. ;)
I wanted to capture the fluidity of their paths in flight, definitely taking the layout of the composition into account from inspiration and form of Fibonacci's golden spiral.
I hope you enjoy this illustration as much as I enjoyed creating it!
