The picture is upside down, but the hell with it. It does sort of reflect the chaos in my old apartment. Except for the lamp and chair in the foreground, what you see here is JUNK. Just, plain, junk. And that's not even counting some stuff not in shot, and the five Hefty bags I dragged down to the basement, along with a huge stack of MHQ and American Heritage hardback magazines. I've got a good few weeks left to keep sorting, including the bathroom (which is likely not bad) and the kitchen (a LOT of dishes and the like to get tossed).
It's not quite Collyer Brothers, since this stuff is slated to be disposed of in the near future, but when I tell you I may have been a year or two from a crisis in the old apartment, you can see I wasn't lying.

Proportionately to where I live, horseshoes and hand grenades. Still, that's a solid three miles.
'Far' is relative. The Saturday after Thanksgiving 2015, I got off a chartered bus at W. 40th (Bryant Park and the NY Public Library) and walked to the Metropolitan Museum at East 82nd, just about two miles. I'd love to do that walk every day!
