"I will keep my parents' and grand parents' heritage in honour, for I will fulfil my destiny where they have failed to fulfil theirs.
- Safiya
Safiya is one of the few descendants of a tribe that once prophesied a cities fall. A city of undeniable prosperity and technological advancement only comparable to its brother and sister cities. A city everyone believed would last for centuries to come whatever there is, its inhabitants would never have to fear danger of any kind from the outside. A city, that fell, regardless. It is now bearing treacherous creatures in webs of decaying ruins and moulding plants. Those creatures strive the lands for anything eatable; scavengers, madmen, worse. Only Safiya's ancestors and her tribe belong to the few that fled before any of this could threaten them.
Today they seek to survive the great deserts in the north, keeping every single bit of culture sacred. Their quest: travelling to the remaining cities that haven't fallen to the mysterious disease that let to the collapse of a whole city. But their quest does not go without dangers. there are the vicious predators seeking for meal, lurking in the shadows, the ones fallen to madness and the harsh conditions of the desert. Only worse; the remaining cities do not acknowledge the prophecy, just as before. They react with seclusion, keeping their inhabitants unaware in hope to secure them, not knowing if the whole incident could repeat itself... and tear another one to fleshy ashes.

Oh wow the texture on this one looks amazing! Are those scales some kind of brush or texture or were they all hand painted? They look like they're drawn by hand, and if they are, hats off to you.
Have you ever played Monster Hunter yourself? It's one of my personal favorite video game series :3
Also, a small tip for how FA handles files and canvas sizes (I recently found this out myself): When you first submit a new drawing, it's limited to 1280x1280 maximum, with no way around it. FA automatically converts anything larger down to that, with possible compression artifacts. Something you can do afterwards though, once it's submitted, is click on "change submission file" under the picture itself. If you upload something bigger than 1280x1280 now it stays that way. I have no idea what kind of spaghetti code that is, but that's how it works.
You need to watch out though that you don't submit enormous files, since FA can only either display the small thumbnail size, or the full picture, nothing in between (unlike dA).

I have to debunk your theory :3
Those scales (I think you're referring to the ones without outlines) are established through a photo texture. I did, however, paint over them so they could have some nice contrast and this light reflecting off of them.
And yes, I have played MH for quite a long time now. I started with Freedom Unite on my PSP, after that, I didn't need to play another game anymore. Then I got Tri Ultimate for the 3DS and then World. That game even urged me to buy a PS4 just so I wouldn't need half a year for the PC release. Talk about passion for a game :D
And thanks for that tip. As of now, I don't have the need to upload it in another resolution though as I find it just right in the zoomed view. I quite commonly work with images that have a filesize larger than 4MB when they are finished so please tell me if you have trouble viewing these due to loading times, etc.
Have a nice day!

Oh awesome! I started out with MHF2 on the PSP, and from then on I think I played every main game they released, accumulating hundreds of hours over all the games (definitely over 1000).
I actually managed to resist the urge to buy a PS4 and waited for the PC release of MHW, but now I'm regretting that once again since Iceborne looks like it's gonna be delayed as well :c
