Daru Daru was a Vega Saucer Beast and the Monster of the week who appears at the tail end of Ep. 8 of the UFO Robot Grendizer anime. In its Saucer Mode, Daru Daru was a very Generic looking Saucer Beast, with a Light Yellow outline and Dark Red stop with light Red lines on the top part. In its Robot mode, it brought out a large Dome in the bottom, and a Light Green head with a long neck, the head had a mouth with teeth and 3 red eyes, the sides opened a row of red portholes and 4 Pairs of Cannons, as well brought 6 Tentacles from the bottom dome. It's only weapon were it Tentacles, cannons and a Red Laser it fired from the mouth.

In the episode, the Motherburn flies on Low Earth Orbit, releasing an Anti-Radar smokes screen over Japan and Explosive Mines on said cover, in an attempt to attract Grendizer. When the Lab discovers the problem, Koji takes off on the TFO to investigate, much to the protest of Duke of the vessel's own limitations. As soon he reaches the altitude and makes contact with the cover, the TFO begins to malfunction, Koji sees the mines, but the ship drops. Koji crashes onto the Mountain, Duke and Danbi arrive to the wreck site and recovered Koji, who could only say a few worlds before losing conscious, and his taken to the farm for treatment, Danbi's way of course.

Duke takes off on the Grendizer to investigate Koji's account as Dr. Umon has a word with Koji, when he informs the Professor of the danger. Koji sneaks out the house and returns to the TFO and takes off after Duke. Grendizer flies into the fog and the systems go haywire, Blacki launches the Minifo Fleet on Grendizer and the Mecha disposes of the Fleet. Blacki then drops the mines on the Mecha, Duke is capable to shutdown a few of them before is surrounded by a large number of them and these magnetize onto the hull and the weight of all the mines make Grendizer drop, and Magnetize waves block the Mecha from exiting the vessel.

Koji arrives to try to help and Blacki launches the Saucer Beast Daru Daru after him and set the mines to immediately explode. Duke is left unconscious as the Mecha drops to Earth, Koji hits the TFO onto the cockpit multiple times till Duke wakes up, and avoids hitting the ground. He flies back to assist Koji with the Saucer Beast and fights it. Grendizer uses Shoulder Boomerangs to free from his tentacles, but the Beast grabs onto Grendizer, who then uses Anti-Gravity Storm, pushing the Beast into the Cloud, exploding on contact, the blast disperse the cloud, and the two fly back to Earth.
