So, as some of you may know, I've been struggling with my fursona for a while. I made a journal yesterday and a few wonderful people helped me start thinking about my sona a bit differently. I sat on it for a while, thought about what I might want in a sona and what sorts of traits they would have.

I debated between a scottish fold or siamese cat or some sort of dog. I did a lot of google searching for types of dogs that I liked. I debated between the dhole or a jackal, but decided to look into domestic breeds too. I looked into huskys, akitas, saint bernards, great danes--- and then I realized that the obvious choice was kind of slapping me in the face. Golden Retriever or a Labrador.
I haven't decided 100% which one out of the two this boy is-- and I doubt his design is finalized. But I wanted something warm and bright- natural and soft and definitely not complicated in terms of markings. I'll probably end up settling on golden, bc their fur is a bit longer and can be a bit curly, and that is how my hair is, which is why his hair is like that. He'll probably have alternate hair styles too, bc my hair is actually longer than that, but I like the tuft look too.

His name is Sun/Sunny bc my boyfriend calls me his sun and its honestly been something I've been compared to for a large chunk of my life-- as well as being calling a big ol puppy.

I'm honestly?? Really happy with him. He is simple enough that I can just kinda slap something together when I want to draw but don't have the energy to put into something more complex- and I can dress him up in funky clothes or whatever if I want something more exciting and detailed.

Some more info about Sunny:

He is transmasc - he/him pronouns. Can be drawn either pre or post top surgery (since I haven't had it myself wehh) and also chubby.
He likes to draw and play video games. He's very loving and protective, but can have a bit of a short fuse. He vapes and listens to a wide variety of music. He has an oral fixation, often putting his necklace in his mouth or chewing on headphone wires. He tends to fidget and loves soft things and cuddling.
He tends to favor cargo shorts and loose tank tops, but is also fond of jeans and hoodies. Also likes hats and rose tinted sunglasses.
Sometimes he doesn't realize how low and excitable he can get and just wants to be liked by everyone and wants lots of friends, but is a bit nervous at times.
Suffers from anxiety, depression, and AHDH, but pushes through and does his best to treat his experiences as learning to accept himself and others through his struggles.
Addicted to coffee- prefers it iced and full of espresso or chai tea. Favorite foods are burgers or pasta.

There is a lot more, but I don't want to fucking. Write a dissertation on this boy. But, I really love him, and I'm really going to do my best to continue to develop him into the perfect boy for me. I'm feeling really good about this one, honestly. He is the most ME fursona I've ever made without. Trying to be anything else or trying to appeal to anyone else. Maybe I'll add freckles and piercings and alternate hair styles/colors, but, I think this is pretty close to his final look.
