Trying to get my brain back into spaces where I can work on it, so I sketched up roughs for the three ships appearing in chapter 1. Yes even though it literally doesn't matter after chapter 1. If anyone wants to try to make more developed art of these, be my guest! I'm not holding my breath. -_-
Hattoran ships tend to be old and not particularly standardized, demand-manufactured for the task at hand at the particular time. Nearly all are small craft made for teams of 2-4. There are some unifying elements across all those encountered, though.
Sensor invisibility
Lack of visible propulsion: Though it's not exactly a reactionless drive, said reaction mass is not ejected into realspace, and therefore it does not need nozzles present in realspace.
FTL: Achieved via dimensional slip (a form of hyperspace), allowing travel between galactic clusters in days or less, depending on how well mapped the intervening space is.
Weaponry is simply projected along the edges, with variable output, tending towards simple brute force to overwhelm any defensive technology. Incoming weapons fire, (requiring manual firing as any locks are highly unlikely ) rather than being deflected or absorbed, is often simply voided.
Ship functions and crew missions are all managed by an embedded ship AI that is also able to project archival and realtime data directly to the Hattoran operatives through instantaneous neural link. Gear is manufactured on-demand via nanite forge. Likewise the interior is small and spartan, but can be reconfigured in seconds to fill any need within the space contstraints.
