TwitterWhen animals considered to be "prey" by the apex predators of the world begin to band together for safety, where does it leave those caught in between?
Namely, a pair of pine martens, carnivores and flesh-eaters themselves, but small enough to be considered food for the bears, wolves and gluttons of the forest and field. They're on a journey to seek sanctuary with the rabbits, squirrels and other prey that have gathered to Oren--but they don't know if welcome or condemnation will meet them.

I get why everyone is reacting to the rabbit being mean to our POV character.
However it is worth bearing in mind that from the rabbit's perspective Rask is a dangerous predator who would under different circumstances would likely kill and eat him.
Given the reality of the world we're being presented in this comic the rabbit has probably lost multiple someones important to him to predation over the years.
Frankly him not just pig-sticking Rask to be safe-rather-than-sorry is breathtakingly magnanimous given the situation.

It's just how the mind works for most people. You look at something, get a first impression, and roll with it unless something contradicts it.
I'm going by likeness, behaviour, ... That's why I get the default from that. Not constantly thinking about it, because it's really not all that important. Yet - who knows what's going to happen in later pages.
