Nitpick alert (from someone that plays way too much ice hockey):
That stance... just... i dont know it looks horribly wrong. The back skate is up and the front is angled really hard into a stop... but the heel of the stick is down and the shaft is bending alot, indicating he is leaning on it pretty hard. This would take wieght off the skate, and with only 1 skate at a sharp angle on the ice, he's gonna lose that edge and face plant in short order.
Well that and with the heel of the stick down like that he aint gonna get much into the puck. Certainly no chance of lifting it. And the hands.. way too close together and the back one too far down the shaft (cause its way too long for his hieght). And... ill just stop now.
Still a cute picture tho.

Never said it wasn't. I was just commenting on something that I know very well.
Its been my experience that most artists are perfectionists at heart. They want to get everything right every time. If there is a something they are modeling wrong, they usually want to know. Can't go wrong with 100% customer satisfaction, but there is always room for improvement.
(FWIW, I have had 2 hockey pieces done for me over the years, both had technical mistakes, but were fantastic pieces all the same. Each of the artists welcomed said feedback because they had little to no hockey experience and I was able to give them some insight to body positioning/balancing for future efforts. That's all I was trying to do. It was not meant as an insult or derogotory in any fashion.)

I know I'm not a perfectionist - especially when it comes to sports. <=)
I used various references for the pose, so it was just my fault for not interpreting them 100% I guess. I don't mind criticisms or critiques at all - but it makes me feel pretty crummy when posted on someone's commission in public like that. <=( If Paul had a problem, I'd trust him to tell me. (corrections concerning color were made before posting, I know he's not afraid to tell me)
Like I said, I know I am not perfect at all and I totally need to improve, but if you want to point out all the mistakes in my pictures, PMs would work great. <=) I'm not trying to be a jerk, the internet is hard to talk though.

I wholeheartedly support any and all furry hockey pictures! Well done :)
I especially like how the Sens jersey came out with the logo in front and on the sleeve. Not that many artists take the time to make sure the jersey is that authentic when making pics like this.
Just a shame it couldn't be a Devils jersey...but then again, I'm a little biased m'self!
*sports a classic Brodeur Devils jersey and grins*
Have a happy new year!
