It's weird having emotional attachment to a ship that 99/100 won't happen before My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic ends. For some reason these two bring the best out of me.

You have one of the best versions of Spike. I kind of got bored with the show during season 6 but I remember how much of a joke the writers started making him. Its like they never wanted him to grow up. I haven't read all of your romance fics but I know your Spike is like this awesome chad with tons of lovers which fits his draconic nature. I wish I was Spike in this picture.
Spike is as much a comic relief as any other character. He makes mistakes and has triumphs, just the same as the rest of the Mane Six. Season 6 brought us Gauntlet of Fire where Spike batted 1000 throughout while still being his kind and sensitive self. Ever since then, he's continued to have tons of amazing moments and has shown more independence, befriending the cute dragoness Smolder, growing wings and roasting a Roc to save Zecora and Rarity.
Spike is manlier than most of us could ever hope to be because he takes more punishment than most of us would be willing to take and rolls with it. He can always be counted on, he helps out because he wants to, and he'll come out a total badass when the chips are down.

This is a ship that should happen, I mean even if he doesn’t get Rarity, at least there’s someone who is somewhat but not like her that can help fill the hole in his heart, the chemistry they would have would be wholesome and dedicated to one another where Spike has moved on from his old crush and slowly learning bit by bit how to be a gentleman for a filly who isn’t too difficult to put a smile on her face
