This is my Master Grade 1/100 RX-78-2 version 3.0. :) I’ll post a picture of it with the weapons later, but for now, this is the pose I usually display it in. I tried getting it into the same pose as the life sized statue that used to be in Diver City. In fact, the whole read I invested in this kit was because it came with all the sticker decals to replicate the marking that were on the statue. I like to display it in this pose as a tribute to the iconic statue that once stood in Diver City. The statue was taken down just a few years ago and replaced by a life sized Unicorn Gundam, but Gundam fans will never forget the iconic statue that was once there. :)
For those wondering, yes, the eyes are in fact lit up in this picture. :) This kit is designed so that an LED unit (sold separately) can be placed in a compartment hidden under the collar to light up the eyes. :) The parts inside the neck and head that connect to the body are clear, allowing the light to go through them. You don’t have to use this feature, as it comes with sticker decals for the eyes, but if you’re paying $50+ for this kit, you may as well take advantage of the LED feature. For the best results, I recommend painting the inside of the white pieces black to minimize the amount of excess light that would normally shine through the plastic.
The LED in mine isn’t one made by Bandai. Those ones tend to flicker and not be very bright. The LED in mine is a specially ordered one made by these awesome guys in Hong Kong. I highly recommend their LEDs over the Bandai ones. They’re brighter, feature multiple lighting patterns, and can controlled using a magnet so you don’t have to open the model up every time you want to turn the LED on. They’re definitely worth checking out. Here’s the link to their site: http://gundamled.com/store.html
