Just a little project I've been working on. We'll see how things turn out! =^^=
Oops, one thing I forgot to mention: Surface prep is done by washing the surface in 91% concentrate isopropyl alcohol prior to brushing.

The paint I used is Apple Barrel paint. It is an acrylic type of paint. The middle of the three bottles I have pictured.
All three paints that I tested are acrylic type. Since Arcylics in general are water based, they had the least probability (in my opinion) of damaging the toy.
I used an airbrush instead of a paintbrush when I painted the black, as it allowed me to paint the larger area more evenly. But the black paint is still the Apple Barrel brand. I got it at Walmart.
Here's the company's website: https://plaidonline.com/brands/appl.....el-craft-paint
The airbrush I used was a cheap model like this: https://www.amazon.com/Badger-Air-Brush-250-1-Basic-Spray/dp/B000BPZ536/ref=sr_1_10?crid=3P63YFW591B91&keywords=airbrush+external+mix&qid=1559680344&s=gateway&sprefix=airbrush+external+mix%2Caps%2C125&sr=8-10
I had it hooked up to a big air compressor, though which allowed me to spray a thicker paint. A lower pressure system might require more thinning of the paint with water or alcohol.
Does that help? =^^=
