By September 1995, I started with the second series of characters that I called:
The Catinga 215 Series
The Defenders Kids.
Normal life for Spartacus and Tracy, two young teens, takes an unexpected turn when a sudden and raw interplanetary war breaks out between Kalandria and its neighbor Neonia; going from common kids to brave warriors, ready to give their lives to recover peace and freedom, defending their planet from the neonian invaders. Only with true love between them, the friendship and unconditional support of their mates and their marvelous courage will achieve them to victory.
The Catinga 215 series is a reflection of what I wanted to be; as a child I was terrified by the idea of being in the middle of some kind of cataclysm; as I grew up, my fears became fascination and I began to imagine stories where I was part of those who would fight to reestablish the world after some apocalyptic event. So far, this has not happened yet.
It's supposed that the Catinga 215 series is a sequel of the Catinga series; 215 years after JF and Elena story, one of their descendants get involved in this new and epic adventure (for this reason, the characters have the same base as the Catinga series, hence their similarity). The series has 5 main characters (4 shown here) Spartacus, aka Sparky; Tracy; Mayte-CLF17, Esquipgónia, aka Skipper; and Angel who, along with 6 other characters, form The Young Defenders team, a group of semi-organized warriors led by Dr. Ambrosio Alva, whose will fight against the mighty invader army from Neonia.
The series became unstable and I left it in hold by 1997, after writing 28 complete chapters.
Curious facts of this series:
- Days after starting to write it, The Independence Day film was released; coincidentally, some situations of the Catinga 215 series were very similar (mainly the massive alien attack).
- The story is highly influenced by The Star Wars and The Terminator movies and by Sonic's SatAm TV show.
- The kids’ ages are between 14 and 17 years old, my age in those years (I was about 16 by that time).

Serie Catinga 215
Los Jóvenes Defensores.
La vida para Espartaco y Tracy, dos jovencitos adolescentes da un giro inesperado cuando estalla una repentina y cruenta guerra inter planetaria entre Kalándria y su vecina Neonia; pasando de simples chiquillos a bravos guerreros dispuestos a dar su vida por recuperar la paz y la libertad, defendiendo a su planeta de los invasores neones. Solo con el amor puro entre ellos dos, la amistad y apoyo incondicional de sus amigos y su tremenda valentía lograrán llegar a la victoria.
La serie Catinga 215 es un reflejo de lo que yo deseaba ser; de pequeño me aterrorizaba la idea de estar en medio de algún cataclismo; al crecer, mis temores se convirtieron en fascinación y comencé a idear historias donde yo era parte de aquellos que habrían de lucharan por restablecer al mundo tras algún evento apocalíptico. Hasta ahora, esto no se ha dado.
Se supone que la serie Catinga 215 es una continuación de serie Catinga; 215 años después de las historias de JF y Elena, uno de sus descendientes protagoniza esta nueva y épica aventura (por esto mismo, los personajes tienen la misma base que la serie Catinga, de ahí su parecido). La serie cuenta con 5 personajes principales (4 mostrados aquí) Espartaco, alias Sparky; Tracy; Mayte-CLF17, Esquipgónia, alias Skipper; y Angel que, junto con otros 6 personajes más forman el equipo de los Jóvenes Defensores, un grupo de guerreros semi-improvisado que, liderado por el Dr. Ambrosio Alva, lucharán contra el enorme ejercito de neones invasores.
La serie se hizo inestable y la dejé en suspensión en 1997, tras escribir 28 capítulos.
Datos curiosos de la serie:
- Días después de empezar a escribir esta serie se estrenó el filme El Día de la Independencia; dándome cuenta que, casualmente, algunas situaciones de la serie Catinga 215 se parecían (principalmente el ataque masivo alienígena).
- La historia está muy influenciada por las películas La Guerra de Las Galaxias, del Exterminador y por el SatAm de Sonic.
- Los chicos tienen entre 14 y 17 años, edad que tenía yo en esos años (yo estaba por cumplir 16).
