Here's a more established Pokemon character of mine. Her backstory's inspired by Mystery Dungeon, not a huge fan of em but I enjoyed Explorers of Sky.

Her story involves two towns named Dawnrock and Duskcliff, on opposite halves of a mountain range crossed only by a cavern lined with crystals that emit a constant, painful frequency that can only be ignored and deflected by psychic types, so the cavern itself has a history of cavern guides being psychic types on both ends.

Terri is a headstrong yet well-meaning young adult who, up until recently, accompanied her mother who worked as Dawnrock's cavern guide. Being surrounded by clever psychic types and strong rock and fighting type pokemon that built the village she was born within into what it is today, she couldn't wait to start contributing to the town herself.

While the Gardevoir knows the primary pathway and a handful of shortcuts and hidden areas within the cave like the back of her hand now, the small degree of expertise she built wasn't always there to assist her. One such foray into the depths resulted in her happening across one of the peculiar traps that guard the unknown depths and discouraged the miners years before her. After that incident, the girl was much more top heavy compared to before.

Once the cartographers and intelligence heads from neighboring explorer guilds began to show interest in properly charting out the cave beside her home, Terri grew rather tight lipped about the job she inherited from her mother, likely due to fear of her service being rendered obsolete.
