This might be a job for some CLR. I think it would be fascinating to study the effects of something like stone transformations (preferably on test subjects other than I).

Celeste is in probably one of the worst places to be turned to stone; if she's lucky, there won't be a breeze.

These cockatrice stories are a blast to read. The complexities of the character really add something special to the narrative. That whole "turn to stone" thing must make having a relationship(let alone a social life)a real pain.

It just involves a lot of masks, herbal antidotes, and caution! The badger claims he's closely enough related to weasels to be immune to cockatrice effects, but there hasn't been a reason to put that to the test. :>

Maybe a friendly wizard can undo it.

I like it, but I've had a thing for heartbreaking tragedy for a while now. I suppose this isn't heartbreaking, but it's tragic in my eyes. There's humor to it too, but it seems like that kind of mumbled, smirking humor. Not the kind I'd laugh about, but maybe chuckle for the poor fool involved. The kind of stuff that happens and you think, 'Well, that figures.' and shrug and move on.

Good stuff, professor. Life is not always rainbows and butterflies and I like a story that reflects that.
