It's the Mushroom Kingdom's annual Christmas ball, and everyone is there, including Bowser's bratty children. Lemmy was playing practical jokes on people using a piece of mistletoe on a pole, and was now pestering his sister with the plant. Wendy wasn't pleased, but she was about to find out that birdoes are emphatic for the plant, and loved nothing more than kissing under the mistletoe.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii is awesome; I've already played through it once, and am playing through it again after I had gotten a Super Guide block appearing on one level, and didn't get the sparkling stars on my save file.

I know about the gender confusion surrounding Birdo; "she" used to be a male crossdresser, now Birdo is still considered a male in Europe and Japan, while retconned to a female in America. Anyway, I treat Birdo as male or female, whichever I feel best fits the scenario, and here I went for implied lesbianism.
