Standing over her big brother, the Princess of Friendship weeps. She fears she may have lost her BBBFF. Shining Armor is so badly hurt it looks as if he's been sucked dry. Cadance is wailing in grief, and her tears have become a slipping hazard. Flurry Heart is sobbing in sympathy with her.
Meanwhile, the Student Six have arrived. Both the Mane 6 and the Student Six have a special connection to the Tree of Harmony. Twilight Sparkle hopes that both her best girlfriends and her star students will be enough to save the day. The Pillars of Old Equestria are also on their way, as are Celestia and Luna.
Shining Armor has the same six-point star as Twilight Sparkle. So why doesn't he seem to be connected to the Tree of Harmony, as well? Or could it be that the Tree of Harmony has been watching over him, too -- and we just didn't know it?
Poor Shining Armor. Poor Cadance. Too often, their happy family feels like a fragile treasure. They seem to need rescuing far too much.

This is an unstuffed Build-A-Bear Shining Armor that I recently bought on eBay for over a hundred dollars -- complete with the captain's jacket. Both items are in mint condition. I regret I didn't get one when they were still being made. I just didn't appreciate Shining Armor back then.
Since then, I have come to recognize that he is as much a part of the team as Cadance -- and he does not need to be an alicorn to be a proper leader of friendship. It seems he, along with his wife and child, needs rescuing far too often -- but that does not make his sister love him any less.
At least I got my stuffed version of the Princess of Friendship, when they were still available -- complete with crown and coronation cape.
