Yeah. I think it was much better than blue, but I don't know if white would have made him stick out more. Oh well.
heh! I have been made to bring out more color in my work, usually limiting myself to a few colors where I am best at the moment. But I hope for the best with this route.
What has been going on within the shadows?

Revamping my process when it comes to the sketching -> inking phase of a piece.
I've adopted a technique of turning my sketch INTO my lineart, i.e., the sketch and the lineart are one and the same, eliminating the tedious and awkward whole "redrawing" when it comes to doing lines on top of a sketch. Making it one layer on its own feels much more natural as a primary pencil player traditionally.
Tons of future projects are amidst in my mind as well. It's hard to choose which one to start with!
Plus, I have a few programs I've been messing around in.
Have you ever tried using wide black lines for deep shading? Like a noir type of style?

Hmm, that phase is tough, as I discovered in class. I tend to do the inking part heavy handed, so it's best to do it when a noir style is good for the occasion. Gradation with the tip of the mechanical pencil works too if I wanted some form with the noir style. Either way, it's not really tried often in my part, to tell the truth.
