Well... figured since I haven't tempted y'all's tastebuds in quite awhile I thought I'd show ya another example'a how I boost some of the foods I make ta fit m'werewolf-sized appetite.
Now most grocers sell various kinds'a subs an hoagies that're premade an while I do like'em I do still like ta go all 'Shaggy' on'em an add as much more meats, cheeses an veggies on these things till ya can hardly get the wrapper back around it... an mind ya that while this is a huge boost on a sandwich it's not like I'd be able ta polish the whole thing off in one meal settin' an still eat one or two other meals. No, when I make sandwiches this big this pretty much covers my food needs fer the entire day ... m'lucky if I can whittle it down halfway by the end'a lunch an the rest serves as my dinner heh
...but hey I know some'a you critters out there probably can finish this big ol' beast of a sandwich all in one settin' an probably'd still have room fer more.
Anyways, this particular sub started out as a philly steak an cheese sub an the meat an cheese were all that was between the bread so here's what all went inta boostin' this sandwich:
ingredients:
1 philly steak and cheese sub (premade/store-bought)
mayonnaise (or condiment/sauce of yer preference)
1 pawful of shredded romanian lettuce
1 slice of white onion
2 slices of tomato
1 pawful of dill pickle slices
1 pawful of bell peppers (this had the assorted green, red, orange & yellow colors)
3-4 slices each of roast beef, ham, pastrami, turkey breast, chicken breast thin-sliced deli meat
2 slices of american cheese
2 slices of pepperjack cheese
directions:
Open up yer sub and appy the mayo (or condiment of choice) then add in the shredded lettuce, (pic 1) while yer doin' the first stages of boostin' the sandwich ya wanna take a medium skillet and put in yer onion, peppers and deli meats in this ta fry until the veggies have softened (pic 2) and once that's done ya can begin scoopin' out portions of the cooked meats an veggies onto the open sandwich, layerin' it with the slices of cheese until all the cooked meats/veggies are used (pic 3), then top with the tomato slices and pickles... then attempt ta fold(pic 4) and re-wrap the sandwich ta help it stay t'gether LOL
As I said, this make the perfect 'all-day' meal fer me while m'half-heartedly watchin' tv while workin' on art projects or somethin' ta nibble on in between breaks from doin' chores or what-not... so if ya give one'a these monsters a try I hope ya enjoy'em as much as I do :)
