You know, if K'ress is supposed to be a "redshirt who never dies" in the way Scotty or lieutenants Leslie and Galloway (both of whom were reccuring reshirts who were killed off, only to reappear in later episodes, both ultimately surviving right to the end of the series*) are, then technically speaking she should either have a more TOS-looking uniform, or her current uniform (which is very TNG looking indeed) should be yellow, as in the TNG era security/operations and command swapped shirt colours...
That said, this is a very well-done picture. The two Gorns look suitably like a couple of dead guys, K'ress' unconcerned attitude towards the situation comes across very well, her wounds have been done well, the proportions are (from what I can tell) top notch, the colouring and shading are very good and the whole thing comes together very fluently as a scene, with a very "lively" feel to it that makes it very easy to imagine just what exactly is going on**..
*Specifically, Leslie was killed by the cloud creature in, "Obsession" and then reappeared in several more episodes, coming out of each without a scratch and Galloway was vapourised by captain Tracy in, "The Omega Glory" only to mysteriously reappear in the final episode, "Turnabout Intruder", with the background fluff explaining these discrepancies away by saying that Tracy actually killed some other guy called Raintree and that Leslie was saved off-screen by the heroic medical efforts of doctor McCoy (a scene for which was apparently planned but never filmed for "Obsession")...
**I pictured a Federation field reporter watching slack-jawed from behind some nearby rocks as K'Ress beat down in melee the two Gorns trying to storm her position, suffering only some minor scratches from their claws. When the fight was over, the two Gorns were either unconcious or dead and the reporter cautiously stepped out from his cover, at which point K'ress felt compelled to strike a pose in front of the two Gorns as depicted in the picture, as if to say, "You can tell the civvies and the brass they've got nothing to worry about... purr..."

I can't just make K'ress disappear because then she wouldn't be around to torment her brother L'noel. Some Caitians would likely wish that she would disappear because of her somewhat notorious reputation for being aggressive. Caitians tend to be diplomatic and well.... K'ress idea of diplomacy is a phaser set for overload in a birthday cake. Truth be told, she isn't usually the first choice for an away mission but when its time not to be nice she is usually brought into play.
Ah the infamous "worst fight scene ever"?
The original star trek fights always made me grin...well in later years when I started to notice the acting some more, which for that day was probably good, but these days... For being military trained, the Enterprise crew's style of fighting looks more like a drunken brawl to me XD
I'm not dissing Star Trek though, I'm a bit of a fan myself though more of Next Generation and Voyager :)

Is this from one of the newer Star Trek shows? I am asking because I know very little about Star Trek. I have seen a couple of episodes of the original series as a kid and some of the next generation stuff as a teenager and some of the movies (I think that I have seen part I - VII), but I have never seen anything which was made after tng.
Heh. Year late in responding but Caitians were from Star Trek the animated series which had the original voice actors from the television series. The communication officer was Lt. M'ress who was a catlike species know as Caitians from the planet Cait and was voiced by Gene Roddenberry's wife. There is debate whether the animated series is canon but most accept as so. Several aliens resembling Caitians also appear in the movies as cameos. Later Caitians were introduced as a playable race for your captain in Star Trek Online but unfortunately when it went Free to Play they removed them as a race option. Ironically, they still kept them as NPCs so not sure why they were removed as an option as a player captain in the revamp of the game. The character in the pic is original and a security officer with no connection to any canon Star Trek stories other than being of the race Caitian
