LUMINAHI REMAKE! Pt.3
Part 3 of 3!
My followers on my INSTAGRAM account have already seen these one by one much earlier, I only decided to upload them as artdumps here later. Instagram seems better for work-in-progress things.
___
Mohana: Indian mongoose, and an assassin. It doesn't matter to her if her targets are men or women, old or young, rich or poor, guilty or innocent. You give her money, she does her job. Mohana can actually get in a serious murder rush. Nothing will snap her out of that killer-trance until her target is eliminated. Then she cleans up and disappears from the scene of crime.
Mohana grew up inside the bat clan through her stubborn will as a child, and survived their training (which was secretly meant as punishment for being stubborn). Even after being a high level business person now, the bats still never fully consider her to be one of them. But she is tolerated within their hideout, and has to follow the bat codes for as long as she lives. Otherwise, she'd receive her ultimate punishment. The bat spies know everything about everyone and their fears, even Mohana is powerless against them.
Also, the young vampire bat Nalokko has a crush on her. Number 1 fanboi. It's extra cute because she's like four times taller than him.
Maurice: Marabou stork. He is a funeral director, mortician, undertaker... the whole package of everything that has to do with the dead and where they're carried off to. Sometimes he also does the gardening on the graveyard for relaxation.
Maurice has a depressing job but doesn't actually want to quit, because it's still an important job which only few can do well. Besides, it's a steady income since you never run out of death.
Maurice is kinda friends with Senanca, but not particularly popular at parties. Usually, you only meet Maurice when you have to. But he appreciates living company too.
Thomas: Red river hog. He's a butcher, and occasionally does moonlighting work where he mixes illegal meat with the legal one if you bribe him well enough. He likes reggae, riddles, hygiene and is generally chill AF. After all, he's never the one who murders the illegal meat. Tom cannot be bribed into doing that either, but you can bribe him into cleaning up your mess.
And for anyone wondering what my anthros eat for meat when they're all based on real animals already; I made it so livestock, pets, and wild animals are all random fantasy animals so it doesn't look like confusing feral-anthro cannibalism.
I also made it so my vampire bat characters can buy blood in cute little juice boxes. And bearded vultures (which eat ONLY bones) can eat bones like French fries. Actually, the butchers in my anthro world can sell pretty much everything from a butchered creature. Even rotten meat can easily be sold to scavenger anthros as a gourmet. Everyone's happy.
You'd think this would make throwing food away a big, economical no-no when you have all anthro species ready to fulfill their food chain role. But just like in our world's economy, throwing away food is still happening here and there because the fewer the items, the more money you can sell them for.
Tom here, however, is absolutely against throwing food away and never does it. Which is also why he can be bribed into turning every dead person into meat and feeding the hungry with it. He actually wants his own dead body to be fed to meat-eaters himself. Reasonable too, as he is fucking delicious.
Basically, Tom wishes to donate his organs and offer the rest of his body as food. Because funerals are a waste of valueable body parts in his eyes, and pricier than getting butchered too. Luckily, he has friends which can grant both halves of his wish when his time comes. As a thank-you for his services.
Joe: Walrus. Full name is Raymond Joseph. Joe is the captain of a river ship and provides traveling and on-board parties for interested tourists. And because you can't have nice things, he also slipped into becoming the importer of illegal, live cargo. First by bribe, then by blackmail when he wanted to quit, then by bribe again. Gotta survive and pay your bills.
Joe enjoys verbal poetry about the sea, black coffee, chess, flirting with tourists, and spooky stories which have actually happened. For example stories like Manfred Fritz Bajorat's, AKA "Mummified captain found in ghost ship he sailed in for seven years" and the letter he wrote before he died.
Behind Joe's occasionally smiling face hides a very sensitive side. Some things can make him lock himself away and cry his eyes out. His heart got a little too much compassion for him to handle both his job and side job. Every day, he's torn between sticking to his childhood dream job as a ship's captain, and wanting to escape it.
Currently, he's taking comfort in the tought that the import business happens only once in a while. And that Joe's client keeps his promises about protection.
And yes, walrus could totally stab his lungs and die if he looked down too quickly. Incidents like that made them an endangered species in the anthro world. "Hey your shoe's untied hahaha OH SHIT someone call an ambulance!!"
Nishay: Kevin's mom. A chacma baboon. She's a single mother with one child, and the only person Kevin has a fear-inspired respect for. The two have a complicated hate-love relationship.
Nishay is a bat shit crazy lunatic who switches from wanting to bite her child's head off, to wanting to bite the head off anyone who harms her precious baby boy.
Kevin also avoids her because she's a guilt trip expert. For example, she keeps demanding at least half of his salary each month because she's given birth to him, thus, he owes her big. And whenever he's not accepting that deal, he's instantly labeled an ungrateful child she regrets having spent the prime of her life on.
Nishay lives in a trailer park, getting money from welfares which support victims of various things- especially those which support only female victims. She is a victim of alcohol and smoking, victim of single parenthood, of unplanned pregnancy, of physical violence experienced at least once in 50 years, a victim of living in a trailer park,... there is always something. If a welfare stops paying, Nishay will simply find an other one. Strategically, she avoids actually working for money. But I suppose you could hire her to injure someone badly if it involved protecting or avenging her poor baby boy somehow.
I think Kevin owns a whole mansion and has guards trained to keep his mom the fuck away from his home. Because they're both assholes.

This finally ends my redesign character sheets. There are more characters in the graphic novel itself, these here are merely some of the main ones. I'll probably design even more characters as I go because. ¯\_(ಠ益ಠ)_/¯

The rule is easy, actually: Wherever it's possible for lazy people to abuse a system, there will be lazy people that abuse a system.
Welfares around the globe need to have stricter rules, and not let emotions get in the way of reason. Some welfares, like the one for jobless people inside my home Switzerland, already have a pretty good standard where you can get financially punished for being lazy within the same month. So when you're living on the street here, you usually deserve it.
The welfare in my country also gives you very little money, mere "survival money", as a motivation for you to get a job and earn good money. Good money which you can use to afford the rent of an apartment that doesn't have fungi everywhere, haha. Recently, the welfare here also made it so you have to pay the money back once you can earn money again. This gives you more pressure because the longer they pay you, the more debt you have.
A well-working welfare is very good for society. I didn't mean to say that all welfares are bad! My graphic novel merely has a lot of rotten people in it which will abuse good systems, haha. It plays in a country where very few things work.
Sorry for misunderstandings! ^^'

The characters are not exactly new, they only didn't appear in the comic yet because they come much later. ^^' Maybe another 20 pages later.
However, Joe was mentioned once when Senanca talked about his best importer, after learning that Kevin stole Senanca's prostitutes and re-sold him the ones which were too abused/"broken" by him.
Senanca also mentioned Mohana after the bat scene, where he regretted having hired the rarely-appearing bats to spy on Vorac instead of finding out Mohana's whereabouts, so he could hire her to get rid of Kevin. (Mohana purposely makes it hard for anyone to contact her, as some sort of self-protection from the law. "Mohana" isn't even her real name, it's just an alias. Only the bats know how to find her.)
EDIT: Oh, and the bat sizes vary based on the real bats. Fruit bats are tall, vampire bats are smoll. 8D
