Based on a true story. Aka, this happened to me today during my mid-shift XD
Now, for better context, I'm a skinny person. And I'm not flaunting that fact. I can feel the bottom of my sternum. This means that almost everything I wear tends to be on the baggy side. And I like wearing things more geared towards men apparel. Not to mention the fact that work shirts are unisex, the medium size that fits me still makes me look like a toothpick, and the disgusting aprons we gotta wear are kinda concealing of the chest. So suffice to say, whenever I chop my hair, I look like a 15 year old teenage boy. But my hair has been long, tied up in a bun.
And. I. Still. Was. Mistaken.
Sure, I've been called a dyke once or twice but when I get gender mistaken, it's hilarious as fuck. I don't even know if it was an automated response from the guy either (one of my retail friends thinks so). Either way, I had to run to the back to laugh like a hyena while my manager tried deciphering if I was lying to her or not. Ah, the fun stories of retail fast food.
Now if only the 40s women didn't chew me out for not knowing an order they paid for 30 minutes before my shift >:/
