Something New
Poor Mica was a nervous wreck for the first few years of Elias' life for many reasons, one of which being that she had NO idea how to be a mother. Yes, she got used to pregnancy a few months in despite being super careful, but nothing really prepared her for when he was finally born. She never HAD parents, having been orphaned minutes after her own birth, so how was she supposed to know how this stuff worked?? All she really had to go off of was her partners small knowledge of how the Wolves usually acted and some advice from some other mothers in the Pack Nest, but raising a Hybrid is KIIIINDA different than raising a regular pup.
Because of this, one of her biggest fears was actually her own full wolf form when being around him. So, this entire situation was so incredibly stressful for her.
And then, lo and behold, it turned out that her lycan form was the one that Elias actually preferred.
Also, the room is actually alot smaller than it looks. :'D It may be a castle, but some of the rooms are specifically designed for the comfort of Vampires- meaning small, cozy spaces. The wolves enjoy them too, just... only in their human forms. Mica is one of the only ones who will freely wander the castle in her wolf form. She's not the ONLY one, but not to many do.
- Story -
It was later in the day. The sun had started to set over the horizon, painting the sky a dozen colors and more. Mica padded through the castle, her muscles burning and her belly full from a very successful hunt. She stayed in her wolf form even after, feeling better about the form itself. She wasn't able to transform much now, or at least stay in this form to long. It wasn't exhaustion or pain; in fact, this form felt the most natural to her. No, it was because they weren't completely sure on what her and Arias sons reaction would be. Even at a year old and with a wolf form of his own, she had only ever transformed around him three times, with all three being while he was asleep. She couldn't help but admit she wanted to be like this around him, but despite the Vampires instance, she was almost afraid to be like his around him. While the vampire was logical in her concerns of the importance of doing so, doubts filled the wolfs mind with every passing day. She didn't know how their son would react, and she didn't know how other wolf mothers reacted... Was this normal? Were they always in their monstrous forms around their pups? She never had a mother, how could she have known?
She wandered the halls until a familiar scent stopped her. Her nose twitched as she inhaled, her ears moving before she turned to face a somewhat open door. She felt a sense of calm wash over her as she neared It, poking her muzzle through. She could hear a slight chuckle as her nose wiggled from the smell, before Arias voice reached her ears.
"Hello, dear." The vampire said calmly, a hint of amusement in her voice. Mica nudged the door open to stick her head in, seeing her partner in a chair, holding a small, black ball of fur close to her chest.
"Hey..." the silver wolf replied in a hushed tone, carefully fitting her way into the room. The room itself was definitely to small for her, but she didn't care. But she kept as much of a distance away as she could, keeping her eyes on their son in her mates arms. "I thought he was supposed to be asleep...?"
"He would not sleep until I held him... but even then, he fought it." The vampire smiled, adjusting herself slightly on the chair. "I believe he was waiting for you."
"... oh." Mica replied, her ears flattening. She tore her eyes off of them to look at the door before sighing. "Let me change, then, I guess... I'll put him-"
She was stopped at the small black wolf gave a sudden yawn, moving in his vampire mothers arms. Aria looked down as she felt his nose twitch, his ears swiveling slightly towards Micas direction before his eyes cracked open.
"... I would say it is a bit to late..." She muttered, giving Mica a somewhat worried look. The silver wolf returned the look before taking a breath, hesitantly moving forward as if her body was on autopilot, stopping only a few feet away and flattening her ears.
She didn't know what she was doing. How would he react if he saw her? Would he be afraid? Her ears stayed against her head as she kept her eyes on him, watching as he squirmed more in Arias arms, waking himself ever so slowly. She sat on her haunches and glances up at the Vampire, who had been watching him as well. Aria opened her arms slightly to allow the pup to move, the corner of her mouth twitching into an amused smile as he shifted his head with his nose going in the air and twitching as he smelled around. Both women froze as he moved his tired eyes to the wolf infront of them.
The child seemed to freeze at the sight of her, his eyes wide and his little nose continuously wiggling as he smelled the air around them. Mica tilted her head slightly, a soft, automatic whine travelling through her throat. Her ears perked as his did, and she watched as he licked along his muzzle slightly before giving the smallest, chirping 'yip' she had ever heard. She felt her chest suddenly swell with a mixture of emotion and pride, carefully moving to lay herself down on her elbows before giving a soft bark of her own as she felt her stump of a tail move slightly.
Aria watched, a massive wave of relief washing over her as the two continued to yip back and forth. She then held him close to her chest as she carefully stood from the chair, only to sit on the floor as Mica gave her a confused look. It didn't take long for the pup to figure out he was close to the ground, squirming more and trying his best to get out of his vampire mother's arms. Aria lessened her hold on him, allowing him to roll carefully onto the carpeted floor and lean against her legs. He kept his gaze on Mica, his ears perked fully and his tail beginning to twitch happily as he seemed to fully recognize her scent. The silver wolf leaned forward, laying her head on the floor infront of him.
"Hey kiddo..." She finally spoke, watching as he lit up at her voice. He gave a sudden, happy yip, his small wings slightly flailing. Aria gave a soft laugh, taking her arms away completely.
"Well, he knows you..." She joked lightly, giving a smile. Mica gave a soft huff.
"Yeah... yeah he does." She replied softly, keeping her attention to the pup that had begun to lean forward towards her, reaching to pat at her nose with his paws. "Hey, Elias... Hey, buddy..." She said, lifting her head slightly.
She was careful with moving, watching as he held on. She could feel his tiny claws against her muzzle, her nose moving slightly in place a flinch as he pulled to move himself. They knew he couldn't walk fully yet, but it didn't stop him from trying. The little guy was tired, but wobbled as he held onto his wolf mothers muzzle with all his current strength, which was a surprising amount considering his size. The pair watched as he shuffled forward, Mica moving her head ever so slightly towards her chest to help him along. It didn't take long until he was fully hugging her muzzle, effectively preventing her from speaking in protest as Aria chuckled infront of her. Each movement brought him closer, and before they knew It, he grabbed at the fur on her neck, pulling and clinging as he moved to curl against what he could of her chest and pressing his face to her fur.
"Hey..." She said, looking down at him. The corner of her mouth twitched as he gave a small 'yip', quickly making himself comfy against her. She moved an arm to go around him, acting as if it were a protective wall. He seemed to relax, his eyes fluttering closed quickly.
"I told you he was waiting." Aria said softly, a light chuckle in her voice.
Mica tilted her head, keeping her eyes on the now sleeping pup in her arms.
"I wanted to do this..." She muttered, her ears perking up as she felt Arias hand on her head. The vampire chuckled, scratching between her ears and moving to press her face to the wolfs.
"You should have done so earlier, Darling..." She said softly. Mica gave a huff before nuzzling to the vampires face.
"I didn't know..." She sighed lightly. "For all we know, he could have been terrified..."
"But he was not." Aria smiled. She gave a gentle kiss to Micas head before standing up. "I will leave you two for now... I imagine you may want to rest after your hunt..."
Mica looked at her before giving a chuckle.
"I'm fuckin tired, man..." She replied quietly, carefully laying her head down. Aria chuckled with a smile, patting between her ears before standing and heading to the door.
"I will be in our room if either of you need me." She replied softly, only leaving as the silver wolf gave a nod, her eyes already closed.
"Alright."
