I have met and cared for too many trans people not to 1) have sympathy for their struggles with self ideation and finding acceptance in a hateful world and 2) recognize that the ways in which they are denied rights and are persecuted by both the government and society at large are eerily and disgustingly akin to everything homophobes have been lobbing at The Gays since the dawn of civilization.

Yeah pretty much, i mean they're still going to despise these men just on basis of them being male but it's so hilarious how they act. Hey now as a gay women let me say "I fully support transsexual people whether they are M->W or W->M". I have had experiences with people beginning or have finished the transition and they have been great to deal with. Now I'm going to refer my friend (W->M) and call him J, J is hilarious and we enjoy what we do, but J does go into bouts of depression J blames himself for somebody passing and I am always there when he needs to speak about it. OK now another acquaintance (M->W) I'll call her A, A is quiet and she is pretty standoffish (I'm boisterous and I think she is nervous to talk to me due to that) she hasn't begun her hormone therapy, but she is OK with being call her original name. I had a phase were I dressed in men's clothing and I was called "fa___t" by some edgelord whose parents probably bought them whatever they wanted.
How is that sexist? Why a transman or a transwoman wouldnt want to appear as feminine or masculine as their gender they transition into? The only scenario where that happens would be if they're too poor to buy themselves clothes to pass better or can't affort hormones which is fine, otherwise if you have all the means to pass - I have serious doubt about said transness especially if they dont have dysphoria.
uhhhhhh did u like miss the whole thing about open transfolk being literally murdered for dressing as their preferred gender? there are a lot more reasons than financial not to go out dressed as your preferred gender unless you are already fully transitioned. not to mention not being out to family or friends. have you ever had problems??? has anyone ever frowned at you?????
Im trans myself. My family constantly frowns at me. I live in a highly catholic area. I wont be able to come out to my grandparents or anyone outside of my parents ever. I cant afford to dress into new clothes.
Trans people are murdered mostly in arabic countries ans african, the west usually doesnt care - rarelly anyone gets murdered "for being trans" and usually these cases are due to them not disclosing to their potential partner that theyre trans. I personally wouldnt want to get trapped like that, sure it doesnt give anyone a pass for doing this but still.
The problem in the west are Non binaries and MOGAI, MTFs and FTMs arent a problem and have every right they could ask for.

there have been countless stories, even in the last few years, of transwomen being murdered outside of clubs or shelters because someone felt their existence somehow threatened them. A transwomen was thrown out of a homeless shelter and subsequently died of exposure because of it. until transpeople can transition without having to "act" male or female for a certain amount of time, until they can use the bathrooms they feel comfortable in, do things without regard to what genital they were born with, Im sorry, but there's a lot of shit that needs to be fixed.
I live in the south. i have personally heard countless people, mostly men, say that if they ever met a "transexual" they would kill them. my gf is trans, and hasnt even been able to start HRT because in high school her parents essentially told her that if she turned out so much as gay, she would be cut off and homeless. she works a job where she cant even grow her hair out.
I'm glad you haven't had these issues happen to you personally, but as they haven't you have as little business as I or that troll to be talking about how MtF or FtM folk dont have anything to fight for...

I'm not privelaged at all. I don't even live in the US. Just because i don't have a threat of beibg killed everywhere i go doesn't mean I'm privelaged - why out of the sudden is this some kind of game of who is more fucked by factors they cant change? Sorry to hear that about your girlfriend.
