German Confederation, 1812.
At this point I knew my fate. The night was approaching fast. My entire body felt warm. My bones hurting. I was starting to lose my sanity, or at least that's how it felt. I would stop and stare at the local fauna as if it was nothing more than food. It was difficult to focus. All I could do at this rate was try and get as far away from any humans as possible.
As the moon poked its head over the ridge of the horizon I felt it. The pain of the first moon. A shock up my spine causing my to shriek in pain and fall to the ground. I was panting, writhing, and trying to get back to my feet so I could keep running. 'this is it' I thought to myself 'it's over. My life as I knew it is over.'
The crack of my bones as they began to reform and shift was acknowledgement it was too late to fix any of this. I slammed my fist into the dirt and stared in horror as my body changed. I blanked out. My last thought was just the hope that this would kill me.
In a haze I awoke however. Nothing had form, everything was loud. I could smell... everything. Hear the heartbeat of every animal around me. That is, what ever I now was could. My thoughts were a mess. As much as I'd like to, I couldn't focus on any human thought. I was purely working on the instinct of a hunter looking for prey. In the last shard of humanity left in me I raised my hand to look at its new form, and bellowed out a howl before the last of my humanity shut off for the night and the hunter looked for its prey.
Pt. 2 to River Wolf
Technically the camera in that image was the eyes of Alice. She didn't make it... but she also didn't die.
