oh, no it's not blood, haha. just a shadow. they're actually really docile creatures if you don't move too quickly or threateningly. all the wild-caught adults i've had have been very friendly from the get-go, so a hand-raised baby like this is pretty sure to be twice as gentle :>

ok i was worried i got bit by one when my sister yelled when i was holding one not a good night for me in the hospital for a few days it bit a vein in my finger

oof, that's unfortunate. i haven't heard of injuries like that before. did it bite you or pinch you in its claws?

i dont recall but it was sharp i was i think 11 when it happeend so i dont remmeber it that wwell

every once in a while i get the notion my adult chinese wants to eat baby hissers, which don't move enough for her to bother trying to catch. she'll eat them sometimes if i hand-feed at least, but i've ended up accidentally keeping quite a few hissers myself, hahaha.

and just the other day i had my first experience with one actually HISSING at me! that was pretty cool!
