With a heavy and painful grunt, Ivan raised himself up precauriously into a sitting position over the bed. It was a bright and sunny mid-morning and the sun rays filtered through his window, several hours after a brutal battle during a routine mercenary job that went bad.
He knew the risks associated with being a mercenary and this was one of many other injuries associated with the job, and although the sudden battle was barely won, it left him pretty injured. He inhaled shakily through his nostrils, his torso being very bruised as well as he slowly raised his right arm, moving it slowly as he winced in pain. The pain, he thought, was diminished but it still ached throughout his body and would probably leave him in bed for a couple of days.
