Well, I suppose she looks unsure what to do. She looks a bit curious too, but not enough confidence to come near. See her ears flipped backwards, so she isn't fully watchful what happens in front of her. And don't mistake trust for curiosity.

To win the trust of a horse isn't very easy and it depends on a horses experience with humans. I needed more than 3 years for this to win the trust and faith of my mare...and this made it so hard to let her go..... *sigh*

I can generally win the basic trust of domestic horses in less than 5 minutes. Ill be to the point where they come right up to me with ease.

And she was at this point deciding if she wanted to move away. I think she was hoping I would just walkaway and she could go back to grazing.
