Hahahah! I thought I misread the title or something, but this is a great concept. I say we should do MORE with this! I can't honestly say that Krystal smoking looks all that unnatural, either; having your homeworld blown up would probably call for some relaxation techniques nomatter how you slice it. Add in suddenly flying with a bunch of dangerous mercenaries and there you go. Excellent expression, by the way.

I personally think Krystal is going through a "Bad Girl" phase where she falls into risky behaviour and does the opposite of her normal daily routine just to shake things up. If I remember correctly from the buzz, in the latest Starfox game , the one for the DS(?) Fox McCloud actually kicked her off the Star Fox team for some stupid reason. Now Krystal helped kicked ass in the last alien invasion, you you can imagine how betrayed and bitter she feels. That could lead to her taking up bad habits and (like in this picture) go to profound or ridiculous extremes of such behaviour. (Three cigs at once? Lady, there's a better solution- wear nicotine patches *while* you smoke!) To me, she also looks like she's trying to impress someone with her bad habits- perhaps Fox's rival?

Seeing her like this makes me want to see her in yet another "bad habit" scene, namely drinking. I bet that she's one of those people who become mean and violent-tempered when drunk. ;)

Truth be told, I always pegged Falco as a smoker. The cravings would get unbearable after a few hours in an arwing, explaining why he's an ass.

I looked at this and totally didn't get why I liked it so much, considering I HATE smoke in RL (I've lived with it a long time and the smell causes me physical pain), but then I read what you said about contrast/contradiction and a little lightbulb popped up! You nailed it. There's a lot of tension in contrast; enjoying a picture for one reason but wanting to look away for another. It can be a powerful force.

Good pose and work. If a drawing has someone somking or somthing, I don't mind/turns me on/etc. I mean, I don't want to smoke because I was taugth in school that smoking can kill someone...but since I have asma (its not relly bad), somking is dangerus for me.

I've never smoked but i have/had lots of friends who did, i just never found it appealing but im not the type to impose my point of view on others :3

This got me thinking about what popular furries could possibly be smokers, and Krystal really doesn't strike me as one. I'd say Falco, and maybe even Bill, would be smokers before I'd say Krystal would be one. Carmelita from Sly Cooper, too.

I don't smoke, I don't care to be around smokers because it's not very pleasant to me, but I don't want to stop them from smoking. That is the way it should be. We should just leave each other the hell alone. XD

I do think the picture is great, though. :)
