I am currently 27. This year, I came out to my parents and brother. My mom had asked me several times growing up. She's got pretty good gaydar lol! I denied it every time. Even though I knew she wouldn't care. My dad is who I was worried about. He's a lot older and was born in a different time. He's better know, but growing up he was really sexist, homophobic, and racist. He doesn't seem to be that way anymore, at least he doesn't talk about it. Since I came out, he hasn't talked to me about it. I don't know if he just doesn't want to acknowledge it. Growing up, he thought think my depression was fake too. He only started to believe when something happened. (Amino rules won't let me talk about it).
Dispite this, I have been SUPER happy after coming out! I've finally had enough courage to wear some of my Pride stuff in public! Earrings, bracelets, t-shirts, flag (small). Wish I had a big one lol!!
I didn't have enough money or time to go to Pride this year. I went last year and I think that's what really made me want to come out. Seeing so many people just not care who know who they are, was amazing! I wanted to be one of them!
So this year for Pride, when my mom asked me, again, I didn't deny it.
She again asked if I was Bisexual. 🤔
I said yes. 😣
My mom simply said, "NEW IT!" lol! 😆
It's been a lot more relaxed about it. My dad even made a joke to me! By brother brought in two jugs of milk, my brother said a joke about jugs and my dad said "I think she(my real name) would like that too!" And laughed! I guess he just needs more time.
I thought being bisexual meant you liked both genders equally. I discovered it doesn't have to be equal! You can like one side more then the other. I am female and I am more attracted to the same sex then the opposite.
I do wanna say that I'm not positive if I'm Pansexual or not. I wouldn't have any problems being with someone who is transgender. I've seen several I liked lol! I'm honestly still learning all the different types there are. I feel more comfortable looking into them then I did while hiding.
Terrsin has been a developing character of mine since high school. And Terrsin and Ariya are my first same sex couple I made!
Drawing these two together help a lot of my close friends know my sexuality. Art has always been an incredible outlet for me. Emotionally and creatively!
If you or someone you know is still in the closet. Please know, you do NOT have a time limit! I'm 27 and I knew this side of me for a long time. Please know there are a LOT of people just as scared as you. I was one of them.
You were born this way, and that's okay! You're absolutely PERFECT the way you are!
❤🧡💛And you are loved💚💙💜

Nice to see it went fairly well with your family. I’ve only ever came out to close friends.
If I may ask, how do you differentiate bisexual from pansexual? Because from what I’ve seen, there isn’t an official consensus between distinctions of either, so I (personally speaking, of course) feel like I belong to both, and tell people they can refer to me as either.
Also, if you prefer the same gender, you’re (at least somewhat) basically gay. Me and my friends agreed on that :-P, speaking as someone who also is that way, so to speak.

Yeah, that’s the thing, isn’t it? That’s so I’ve been told. But then there are people who like everyone who identify as bisexuals, and vice-versa to a good extent. I’ve also been told that some don’t like the historical connotations, the better and the worse of said connotations, of “bisexual”, being an older label, so they want to identify with the newer label, pansexual, because less connotations allow them to “express themselves more freely”. Maybe it’s just me, but speaking from my, and only my, observations, it seems to be more of a choice to identify as which at the end of the day. And so for me, also personally, and only personally, I’m not too much the picky type, I guess. Which is why I can see why they say that you can be 100% of both. Sorry if it’s a bit lengthy, it was the only way that I can properly express my 2 cents fully.
