flowers are living things, and once you pick them they slowly start dying.
Slugs are telepathic so they can read the minds of any living thing.
Slugs are also tend to be sadistic, and enjoy feeding off the fear and pain of others.
Yig-Mosha is delighted by her boyfreind's gift, not because the flowers are pretty,
but because she can sense their fear and pain which to her is pretty.
