The "Thalassa" ("sea" in Greek) was built on the model of a traditional sailboat, it first served under the name of Relinquenda as a trawler.
The Thalassa is a beautiful sailboat, a three-masted schooner of 50 meters. He is also a boat with an original story, born of a drama and a rescue.
In August 1984, near the island of Texel in the Friesian Sea, he impales himself on a wreck of the Second World War, and sinks right.
The boat is quickly refloated and towed to the coast. His wheelhouse is recovered, and a buyer buys the hull to make a yacht, but it goes bankrupt.
A young sociologist Arnold Hylkema and his friend Henk Stallinga (who later restored the Gallant) will draw the boat of their dreams on this empty hull, whose second launch takes place in 1995.
This sailboat with eighteen cabins travels a lot with the 34 passengers it can accommodate in addition to its crew.
It can board up to 120 passengers a day.
