Dem Kawaii Japanese Cars
Been wanting to draw something like this for awhile now. I finally saw someone's avatar on FA with a cute horny looking anime face on it and it inspired me.
As you probably know, Ani-Mech is half Japanese founded company, and you better believe the anthro-cars were even faster a hit over in Japan then they were in the US. Animech cars quickly became choice romantic surrogates, think non-fictional waifus lol.
I decided to follow Pixar's lead in making all cars in Japan look anime with gigantic pupils. In universe it makes sense though kind of that they'd model them after the popular media over there.
The Japanese are even more interested in pushing the anthropomorphism of the cars, the most noticeable feature unique to them are actual fingers on their 'hands' that can fold in and out of a hollowed wheel hub. They're completely functional and fully articulated three finger hands. They also like to see every part of the car as one body, so unlike the American versions, these cars are painted the same unifying color on all parts short of rubber parts. It does indeed give them a more unified look doesn't it?
The car by the way is a female 2007 Toyota MR2

So... japneese cars have fingers, but waifus in USA have to struggle with their stumps pf tires wgenever they want to open the twist off grease bottle?
Now, THAT I find really troublesome. Im all up for opening the finger market for broader use. I want to make a company that will let the regular cars enjoy their fingers as kuch as japaneese cars do.

You're telling me! I haven't uploaded it but I've got about %85 percent of the mechanical inner-workings of the mechanical limbs blue-printed out, in a functional way where the arms can actually slide up into themselves.. not easy! I can't even imagine designing how those fingers fold up into the wheel hubs. XD My head hurts just thinking about it.
Think of it more of a cultural thing, the USA took a lot longer to get used to the idea of anthro-cars walking around. Sexualizing them so they can reproduce was sweetened by the idea of making money off breeding pups in our capitalistic society. : P Again, lore not made anything yet for to demonstrate it, but Ani-Mech is no stranger to committees chastising them for sexualizing the cars so much... not to mention all the angry parents who's kids got a view up a car's skirt that wasn't wearing panties that day lol. But hey.. Ani-Mech is a super powerful conglomerate, who gives a shit? lol.
>__>; The cars don't have any problems not having fingers.. for reasons. Maybe they can grip with their movable treads like these tires I dunno.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQyHAeIy3vc
You can import the parts for your American waifu-car, if you can find a mechanic to install them for you. And with how complicated these cars are, mechanics in this universe almost have to get as much schooling as human doctors so it ain't cheap lol.

Not according to Wikipedia, and you know what flawless information you get from there.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyot.....rd_generation_(W30;_1999%E2%80%932007)

Well Japanese culture is a lot more open to the idea that objects have a spirit in them, an example being the big toy funeral service they do to put toys to rest 'properly so that their aimless spirits don't roam around after they're recycled. So I could definitely see them giving cars more defined faces from that aspect more than a marketing aspect like we do in the states and Europe.
Oh they can! All you have to do is look.. https://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-medi.....ex0p0mdg3x.jpg
heh yeaaah.. cars can have that effect on you with the right mindset.
Maybe someday you'll get to the point where seeing this: https://bit.ly/2FyMwqD will feel like seeing this: https://bit.ly/2FuT3lZ
