A commission of Lumiel for
Vaalkk.
Supposed to be a sketch-y commission, but ended up being more refined LOL. The glowing runes were a lot of fun, for sure. :D

Haha, no idea actually! This is somewhere between a sketch+BG ($18) and something... more? LOL. The main difference is I don't usually shade a sketch which is what took a lot of the extra time.
If I had to take a guess, maybe $30 for a relatively simple color scheme? Dunno. |D

This is gorgeous. It's very much like a scene from one of my stories (which I have yet to write but has been looping in my head for years), but enough about me.
I like the perspective and the colors, you have a nice way of coloring. Everything looks like it fits together nicely, as opposed to having a character chunked into a background.
I feel like the ground should look muddier, though, since it's raining (but you're finished anyways X3)
The hanging figures are very ominous. I like the atmosphere they add.

Thank you very much! c: The perspective was much more fun than the front-on approach I was originally gonna do.
You bring up a great point, but since it's a sketch commission (or was originally intended to be one) I didn't put as much work into it as I would a regular CG. XD Definitely will keep it in mind for next time, though!
;) Let's pretend it just started raining, or something. lolol

It's a lot more powerful from this point too, one gets the feeling that he's in a purgatory of sorts but not completely powerless.
Haha, well if your sketch commissions always came out like this, I would scrape together some cash and order one XD
OR it's not really rain at all (because the lad's fur doesn't look too wet either X3) but a mere illusion. Woah.
Other than the little details, the rain effect is really quite nice. It's there but not distracting. How do you do it?

I think purgatory was one of the words used to describe this place by the commissioner, so you're spot on. LOL. <3 And thanks, hon! My sketches generally are pretty clean (because I'm so anal, hur hur), but the major difference between this and my usual sketches is I don't shade. xDD
But this wouldn't look right without shading, so I had to do it. :D
And totally—it's an odd-looking place, so it could very well be an illusion. I actually used one of my "snow" brushes for the rain, then used motion blur and another filter to make it curve a bit with the perspective. Then I just lowered the opacity of the white rain so it would show through like regular water would. ;)
(I know, I'm such a cheater in Photoshop. Haha!)

I remember that you were one of my first commissioners (at least if I'm remembering correctly, lolol) and I was pretty new to anthros at the time. It's awesome to know you see improvement... that makes me really happy. ;w;
(Although, something tells me I improved because I draw WAY too much. XD)

I got from the commissioner's description that he was not one to just accept fate, so I figured having him hold the chains would make him a more powerful/controlling and ominous figure in the drawing. :D (I'm glad you noticed that! Those frickin' chains took forever LOL)
Thanks! :D
Thanks! :D
