So I've been re-visiting alot of old Pokemon OC's and re-vamping them a bit. I came across my old Riolu OC Rylee and totally overhauled her and finally finished her backstory so yay~! The only real thing different about her is that she's shiny now, and I've re-done her accessories, as her crest/key is important to her story. Rylee's story is set in the PMD universe with canonical game-verse locations for convenience sake.
Backstory:
Iron Island used to be a flourishing kingdom of aura users. Fighting types would come from all over to train with masters, and the island was idea for steel types since it was so rich with ore. It was ruled by a king and queen Lucario, and all was well for many years. However, peace wouldn’t last. Even before the Mystery Dungeons began appearing even on their island, there were raids by pirates and vikings and all manner of bandits trying to find the island’s wealth and resources. Each raid was worse than the last, and although the Rescue Guilds were present they were a relatively young thing, and getting to the secluded island certainly wasn’t easy.
When Rylee was born her parents decided it would be safer if she weren’t there. She was sent off at an early age, over to a nearby island to a farming town where she was cared for by a family friend. The only thing from her heritage was a family heirloom, a crest resembling a key, that her parents gave her before she was sent off. Rylee grew up in the small village, learning how to fish and farm and fight. The family friend taught her the ways of the aura but it was difficult for her even with her natural abilities. No one knew what became of Iron Island or the kingdom that was once there.
When she was a young adult tragedy struck her small village as a group of pirates took advantage of a natural disaster caused by a dungeon and pillaged. They left no house standing and it was a miracle Rylee survived, saved by a rescue team. Now she travels, trying to find other aura users since she was always told she’d be safe with them, uncover the mystery of Iron Island, and eventually re-build and avenge her kingdom. The only identifier she has of her royal heritage is the way she carries herself and her heirloom.
