Thank you so much for this! You have no idea how happy it makes me to see it :) Gives me a quiet, calming effect. Similar to when I go out to the hives and just watch them do their thing.

I think even if I were a 20 foot dragon, -even- knowing how docile/not dangerous they are, I'd -STILL- be terrified of bees and like 100 yards away from those things ASAP xD

You'd be surprised, honestly :) I was just the same... I didn't want to go anywhere near the hives at all, and I certainly didn't want one single bee on me because I was afraid of it stinging me. Once I did more research though, and got proper equipment as far as uniform gear and gloves.... it got better. I still have my moments but now I'm not afraid of walking or standing within 5ft of the hives without any of the gear on. It took me a while to get to that level of confidence!

I'm not even scared of the pain necessarily! there's something more irrational going on there. like the capability that it can or finding the unknown factors of it freaky. never figured it out.

I totally get that :) my dad had the bees for quite a few years, I only once got stung last year at the base of my neck... totally my fault though. It felt like a sunburn and there was a knot for a couple of days. The real irrational part of it is knowing that there are literally thousands of bees per hive, and I used to be so scared that -all- of them would sting me if I got too close. That may not be your irrational fear for them, but that was pretty much mine xD I totally get it though, beekeeping isn't for everyone c:

Nope! I totally run if one gets within 10 feet of me xD Wasps are worse, and probably the reason I fear bees as well. I've been stung by one of those unprompted as a small child and ever since anything that flies around me and is larger than a fly gives me the willies
