Did the maker finish the item by the expected date (ETA)?
YES - the ETA was accurate
Did you tell the maker about any issues you had?
no, the head was a little tight but it was only due to it being new, she fits perfectly after some wear time, and the crooked claws don't bother me too much.
HEAD
The following questions ask you to explain how satisfied you are with each feature of the head of the costume. If you are reviewing only a set of ears, your answers would also go in this section.Wear Satisfaction
Please describe how it is to wear this piece of your costume.
The head was well lined with a custom print of my choice, which was nice.
The lining, along with wearing a balaclava, made wearing her a breeze.
She had amazing ventilation due to her 2D eyes and 3rd eye as a vent.
Vision was great, since her snout was short and made mobility easy, even with stairs.
The mouth was wide enough to fit a water bottle in easily.
i initially had an issue with the fit, but after wearing her for the duration of the convention i picked her up at, she fit well. Snug, but not uncomfortably so.
Appearance Satisfaction
Please describe how satisfied you are with how your costume piece looks from the outside.
The symmetry of the head was fantastic, there was only a slight curve to the mouth, but it's barely noticeable in photos.
Since this head was made from minky and faux fur, there was no shaving required on the head, which gave her a nice neat finish.
All materials used feel fantastic, she's extremely soft to the touch and easy to brush.
The overall expression is cute! It's just what i had wanted for her, although it doesn't fully match the concept art, the maker really nailed the expression and what type of personality the character is supposed to have.
Initially, there was frequent communication for progress, and we exchanged touched up photos of the head in order for the final outcome to look exactly as planned.
Special Attachments and Features
Please describe how satisfied you are with any extra features your head has.
The suit head was fitted with magnets in the upper brows to have eyelids, they are a sturdy add-on to the head and look fantastic.
They do obscure my vision quite a lot, but that is due to the expression i had wanted from them, i was informed that this would be the case from the maker and was not a fault on their part.
They're quite durable and i would be confident storing them away in a small bag to use in photos without worry of potential damage.
HANDS AND FEET
The following questions ask you to explain how satisfied you are with each feature of the hands and feet of the costume.Wear Satisfaction
Please describe how it is to wear these pieces of your costume.
The hand paws fit extremely well!
I commissioned extra large ones with stuffed beans, they are very comfortable to wear and stay on very well.
The resin claws embedded within then were crooked when i picked her up, but they still look fantastic.
the interior has been lined with the same material as the head, making them easy to air out and stay hygienic.
Appearance Satisfaction
Please describe how satisfied you are with how your costume pieces look from the outside.
The overall appearance is pretty much what i wanted, the beans were a little larger than expected, but cute none the less.
The spots on the paw pads turned out great and the overall look in comparison to her ref was great!
the paw pads were nice and symmetrical and both paws were an easy match.
The shaving is great, there were only a few spots i had to trim a stray long piece or two, nothing noticeable however.
the Resin claws were a little crooked on the paws, but it's only noticeable when i clench my hands, causing the middle and ring finger's claws to bump together. It's something i can fix myself with some minor re-adjusting.
A pair of arm-sleeves were also commissioned.
These weren't lined like the hand paws and head were, but they were still comfortable to wear.
The fur is of the same quality as the hand paws and head, making them nice and soft.
The spots on the fursuit were hand stitched in well and very durable. The arm sleeves had thick elastic stitched in with the same quality, i'm confident that with proper care, these will last many years.
TAILS
The following questions ask you to explain how satisfied you are with each feature of the tail(s) of the costume.Wear Satisfaction
Please describe how it is to wear these pieces of your costume.
The tail i commissioned has a total of 3 stitched in belt loops in the base of the tail, since it's quite large and stuffed.
The spots on it are mirrored and hand stitched in neatly, i am very happy with the overall look of it.
The tail was worn during night raves and stayed in place.
I have found however, that the belt loops, being the same material as the backing, is less durable, and has shown signs of wear already.
I'll be re-enforcing the loops with tougher material to extend their life.
Appearance Satisfaction
Please describe how satisfied you are with how your costume pieces look from the outside.
The tail looks fantastic and matches the rest of the suit perfectly!
the shaving is nice and gives it a velvety quality which matches the ref great.
Since my character has so many shades of pink used, i was content with finding an alternate fursuit-friendly palette for them.
I was happy that my maker suggested alternatives to some of my choices, since they've worked with some furs firsthand and knew that some colours would work better.
Due to this decision, my fursuit matched my ref sheet much closer!
WINGS
The following questions ask you to explain how satisfied you are with each feature of the wings of the costume.Wear Satisfaction
Please describe how it is to wear these pieces of your costume.
The wings that i commissioned came in 2 parts.
A back plate to wear as a backpack, with elastic loops and the wings themselves, which were mounted onto a plaque that snapped to the back plate with magnets.
The wings fit great, they didn't sag downwards despite the weight of them.
The magnets have a strong hold on them that keeps them in place rather easily, only coming loose with some vigorous shaking, so general wear-walking and interacting was perfect, but dancing can be a little tricky.
Appearance Satisfaction
Please describe how satisfied you are with how your costume pieces look from the outside.
The wings look fantastic, there was only a small amount of deviation from the ref sheet.
they were well stitched and any glue spots were covered by the fur on the back plate.
Along with the fursuit parts, i love how these turned out!
Special Attachments and Features
Please describe how satisfied you are with any extra features your wings have.
The magnets that snap the wings to the back plate work great, my only concern was that the magnets used seemed to shift after a while, and may need to be glued down after a few months.
However, there are very few instances where i need to take them apart from the backpack piece.
OVERALL SATISFACTION
The following questions ask how satisfied you are with the overall buying experience, including your interactions with the maker and the resulting final product. How was your concept art realized?
The concept art used was created by me, and it was kept to amazingly close.
The only things that had to be changed were her horns and teeth becoming plush to meet the ETA, but i was more than happy to do that.
There was solid communication when it came to questions about the suit and the character, which really helped us stay on the same page.
There was a different in overall style, due to my art style and their maker style being different, but her overall look was what i'd imagine she'd be like in suit form.
How well does everything fit together and match up?
The suit fits amazingly, my maker really nailed the measurements, nothing was too small or short.
the tail fits nicely and doesn't sag or get in the way of walking, and her wings sit up nice and high.
the seams are neat and match up extremely well, their skills as a seamstress show.
As for the maker's style being an influence in this suit, i really loved their big cheeks and paws, they're what initially made my want to commission them, and after seeing a suit made for one of my friends, i was sold.
My suit was an experiment for them, as this was the first time they had used minky, needless to say, i am thrilled with the overall outcome of her look.
How easy was it to initially contact the maker for a quote?
I contacted them through their Instagram on January 27th, asking if they offered quotes.
How satisfied are you with the response time from the maker?
How long did it take the maker to get back to you?
They responded within 2 hours and were happy to continue contact through private messaging on Instagram
How satisfied are you with the professionalism and customer service and of the maker?
Their overall professionalism was fantastic.
When we weren't having a casual conversation, the information about the fursuit commission was always clear and to the point, making conveying what we wanted nice and easy.
How satisfied are you with how long your project took to complete?
From the time i commissioned to when i picked my suit up, the ETA was the same.
They were also tabling at the convention where i picked them up and i am very impressed with their dedication to the craft.
Are you happy with the product you received?
With everything considered, i am extremely satisfied with my partial.
The minor issues that it has, in no way outweigh the positives, this suit has been made with fantastic materials and has been professionally stitched, i have no doubt that with proper care, my partial will last a few years before i even begin to consider any kind of refurb.
Describe your overall experience with this maker.
I would definitely recommend this maker to first-time suiters, as they're easy to approach, easy to communicate with and deliver fantastic quality suits!
I would keep in mind of their work at cons and how that may affect ETAs, but from my experience, they really put in the extra effort to get their projects done in time.
