I have a new pokemon to add into my list of favorites and it's this big beautiful bird right here... Wait, not THAT big! Someone help the poor thing!
Birds exploding after eating rice is one of my favorite myths and I couldn't not do it to the new big bird from sword and shield.
Poor thing is getting stretched apart so tight and hard by all that swelling rice he's about to literally burst at the seem!
The rice in his belly hasn't finished expanding yet, someone get a revive ready!

heh, I knew it was only a matter of time before you fell into the clutches of corviknight, I have as well but haven't done any art of em. :P
i've personally never actually heard about the ol' "birds explode after eating rice" myth before until I saw your old rice bird inflation pics, though I must say it does peek my intrest a tad (ignoring the fact that I allready know rice swells when made contact with water/ liquid ). hopefully a revive is all this guy will need once he gets set off. >u>

Even so they are gonna be awfully stretched out, hopefully it works out for this big bird in one way or another. But ya regular rice wont swell unless it's cooked but instant rice is precooked and dried so it swells like crazy when it gets into contact with water. The only thing holding this myth back is that you need an equal amount of volume water to rice expansion so in reality the only way for a bird to explode by rice is if it drank enough to pop its stomach. Unless it could absorb the water from its body I guess? IDK it would still have to drink if it was loosing hydration to the instant rice.
EITHER WAY it's just a myth that's proven false, it's just a fun scenario to play with that's specifically tailored to my love of anthro and feral birds. >3>
